A couple of news items from the Volks x Alice Soft figure collaboration project to report today: first is word that the votes from the Rance figure selection poll have finally been tallied! And the winner is… drumroll… drumroll… drumroll… Masou Shizuka, from Rance VI! Receiving 5231 of the 43,747 votes cast, she narrowly beat out Rance Nazo no Shoujo to be selected as the first PVC figure in Volks’s upcoming Rance series. We’ll keep an eye out for a prototype to appear within the next few months.
In other, considerably gloomier news, HD reader Baldulf came across this scan yesterday that provides additional information on the release of Volks’s Choukou Sennin Haruka (Beat Blades Haruka) PVCs. Both Haruka and Narika are due out at 1/7 scale and 6,500 yen retail, with sculpts from Chorosuke; Haruka is set for release in June, with Narika coming in July. The unfortunate conclusion to this is that both figures will be available exclusively through Volks’s retail stores, mail order and online shop – meaning it’s proxy time for anyone outside Japan with their eye on these figures. We can bet the same will be true for the Rance project as well… Damn it Volks, when will you wake up to the reality of the international marketplace? (no more)
Aarhg!
And surely the Haruka figures would evaporate as fast as the Goodsmile Dark Elf.
And when are the preorders going to open?
(I hate you Volks, and here I was thinking you had changed)
That is totally not surprising and I’m glad because now I can save $70 for companies that deserve my monies!
>>Baldulf
They don’t specify when the preorders will be open; the advertisement just says that “they’ve decided to eventually open preorders.”
Good going, Volks.
maybe some of you guys won’t agree, but honestly I think the Alter of one and the Koto of the other (pink hair) both look better than the Volks PVCs, so screw’em. I’ll be passing on all of the above but still, if they aren’t even better renditions then really who cares?
@the_pseudokings
Agreed – the Alter Haruka is much better IMO. It looks stronger and curvier at the same time.
See… ? Well, I guess I’ll be loyal to Alter, no matter what….
Gah, so much for getting either Haruka or Narika from Volks.
Can’t really agree with you in this one.I found the Alter version very generic. The Volks one is much more dinamic (love that kicking pose)
Damn you Volks!
[…] that their Sennin Haruka and Sennin Narika figures are available to the Japanese market only (see Heisei Democracy for more information about it!), let’s just hope that the Volks’ Rance series figures don’t take the […]
Guess I can always save that 21000yen (3 figures) for something else nicer, like Griffon’s Queens Blade line of cold cast figures. 8)
Anyway, it really seems that witches (http://www.alipro.2-d.jp/vote/vote5_kekka.html)
are in vogue nowadays. 8)
