News of the Day:

Other Headlines

Doujin music circle 5/4 Takepod is (apparently) a Nico video sensation, and presents here a compilation of some of the most incredible Miku manipulation I’ve ever heard. A crossfade sample track is available for download at the Tora page linked above; definitely worth a listen if you ask me. EvoSpace’s preview of Choukou Sennin Haruka is also worth looking over – it gives a glimpse of the latest Alice Soft title that makes me want to play it even more now. Damn you Evo! >:o

March 4th Figure News

Today brings a bountiful harvest of figure news, starting with word from FREEing that their Lucky Star trading figures will see reissue in May (both sets), moving on to a firm release date for Alter’s Kuro no Franco, news regarding a Kodomo no Jikan Nendoroid series, a look at Eye Scream’s Shining Wind Shiina (Seena), a loliriffic Murasaki from Kure-nai, a Pinky Street Mikuru, and a look at Aoshima’s To Heart 2 itasha – plenty of good news to go around!

Magazine Review: Megami vol. 95 (April 2008)

We revisit the hallowed posteriffic pages of Megami Magazine for the first time in a few months to find a very solid issue indeed, including offerings from Shana II, Clannad, Aria, Kimiaru, Nanoha, Spice and Wolf, To Heart 2, Kanokon, Minami-ke, Gunslinger Girls, Kimikiss, Bamboo Blade, Yotsunoha, Rosario to Vampire, Ikkitousen Great Guardians, and more. Is it just me, or is there more nekkidness in this issue than in the past year’s lot combined? See below for a preview:

Bonnie scooped by Tandem Twin

We got our first look at the painted resin version of Yamato’s Tandem Twin Doubutsu Nee-chan Inu Bonnie back at Wonder Festival, and today sculptor Yamazaki Kouichi updated his site with a much more thorough preview of the figure. While still presented as the resin prototype we’re now able to see the various goodies that will come with the PVC version, including a replaceable chest part, optional glasses, blindfold, and alternate face part. Looks like another great offering in Yamato’s animal girl series, and we’ll be watching for a preorder announcement soon, along with announcement of the promised alternate color “Brenda” version. (no more)

Kotobukiya’s Horo, Elwyn preorders open, Mao in planning

Kotobukiya posted retailer order forms this morning for two new items we saw unveiled at Wonder Festival: first is their Elwyn from Shining Wind, scheduled for release in June at 6,090 yen retail, and 1/8 scale (21 cm tall) with a sculpt from Nakamura Takuchi. Next is their Horo from Spice and Wolf, who’s coming in July at 6,090 yen retail, 1/8 scale (19.5 cm tall) with a sculpt from Kitaike Shoukaku. Preorders for both should appear around the internets soon. In other Kotobukiya news, the official Shining figure blog reports that a Shining Wind Mao is currently in the planning stages, and is already looking quite nice. Pictures of all three below:
