Orchid Seed updated their official site this afternoon with the lineup of items they’ll have for sale at Wonder Festival 2008 Winter. We scooped the limited edition of their Chichinoe+ 2 figure yesterday in our coverage from Hobby Japan, but seeing her here these limited edition colors seem like a definite step back from the original, alas. Far more exciting is news of the two resin kits to be on sale, an Ishiyama Satoshi-sculpted Kanu Unchou in (castoffable?) bikini, and a Nekomaru-sculpted Kazami Mizuho from Onegai Teacher. The details of these don’t really matter – what’s important is that precedent decrees that both of these kits will inevitably be released as PVC at some point in the coming year, which is totally awesome news for fans of Kanu, Mizuho, and Ishiyama Satoshi’s mad sculpting skills. I’m not entirely sure about this, but I think it’s a good thing that Orchid keeps on unveiling new figures despite the fact that their production schedule has been regularly pushed back month after month. Here’s hoping Feane and the rest finally see release in February along with these Wonder Festival goodies…
Wow- I’m liking the Kazami and Kanu…….can’t wait to see them in color.
mmm yes indeed…what he said ^
sign me up for the eventual PVC of the Kanu! I’ll be very interested in how the Mizuho turns out as well, but it’s not as easy to tell with that one.
I’ll stick with the Chichinoe I’ve got.Yup,Shingo-san got it right. This does seem like a definite step back. Somehow, the Rei Ayanami blue-hair look doesn’t cut it, and strangely enough, this is one time that the white undies and stockings combo does not seem to have that “effect”.I’m not really into alternate color versions of the same figurine ( With the exception of shotgun/white pachira version of Donne Anonime/Woman with no name of Sarsuriko no Jango. What is killing me is that I cannot find one…)
And Kanu Uncho…..man,that’s a given.Still haven’t met someone who collects figures who does not have atleast one Kanu Uncho. And I hope this one is cast-offable.
i don’t have a kanu lol. Though I just started sort of collecting (they’re all preorders). I find myself looking more at Ryomou figures instead actually. I did consider getting the kneeling Kanu in white loli outfit though.
THANKS FOR THE INFO SHINGO! 8)
This means I can save some cash from buying the (badly color-coordinated) event limited Chichinoe and the Alter Kanu for this bikini clad Kanu (Castoffable or not, the sculpt looks great.)
And yes, I already have 1 (and only 1 Kanu). That’s the Cobra-Kai version by Yamato. 8)
This bikini ver has a similar pose and will look great next to my existing one. 8)
And I might finally get my first Mizuho too. The sculpt here looks good too. 8)
O_O more figurines :D cool~! Got to strengthen my self-restraint(have been practising for some time now) More Kanu coming out = more temptation.. Sometimes i really cant believe myself for spending so much for 1 figurine. lol but i never regret. Thx to Shingo for providing such inspiring figure reviews.

Think of it this way – your significant other might want to be splurging $30K on a Hermes handbag. 8)
Mizuho figures are like Tamaki figures. I’ll but them every time almost just because of who it is . . . .
Ugh, the blue hair and the brown top on the Chichinoe+ does not look good at all.
The Mizuho looks very nice… ^^
I hope they include glasses. Too many of the recent kits haven’t, which is a little disappointing.

I agree. I prefer Mizuho with glasses on too. 8)
I’ve said it once i’ll say it again. Everytime a good Kanu comes out a better or another one comes out!!
After thinking about it, the Mizuho figure looks like it’s based on the is artwork from the series . . . http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/9171/dpgpleaseteachervisualclm6.jpg
I might have to get this version of Kanu over the Alter’s version. I’ll wait until I see it in color before I make a serious move.
