Character Description
Donne Anonime is one of the three central protagonists of Nitro+’s Zoku: Satsuriku no Jango (“Jango of the Slaughter: THE SEQUEL”). Inspired by the spaghetti Western tradition (known in Japan as the “macaroni Western”), Satsuriku no Jango ends up as the aesthetic and conceptual bastard child of Cowboy Bebop, Firefly, and Star Wars. In fine spaghetti Western tradition the game is not a sequel, and the character Jango never appears; the story instead focuses on the escapades of notorious outlaw and freedom fighter Kuro no Franco and a pair of bounty hunters lured by the promise of her sky-high reward.

original Donne Anonime illustration and game package
Donne Anonime is one of these, a woman whose true identity is unknown but goes by various aliases (Namae no Nai Onna translates as “the woman with no name”; she also goes by “Blondie”, “Jane Doe”, “Miss Nobody”, and HLJ’s loltastic “Woman Nought Nothing” – I have no idea where they got that one). She is cool, calm and collected, and a deadly shot with her replica Remington New Model Army revolver.
I played through the first part of the game back when it was released in July (initial impressions here), so if there’s some interest I can provide additional information regarding the characters and setting that are tangential to this review. If you’re shopping around for the game it seems a proxy purchase from Getchu might be your best bet as the special edition is currently on sale for 50% off.
Sculpt
Sculptor Tanaka Senu appears to be a newcomer to the scene with no prior PVC credits to his name. His skill is immediately evident here however, in a tremendously dynamic sculpt that accurately and meticulously reproduces Donne Anonime’s Niθ design. On the macro level I don’t think there’s anything to seriously criticize in terms of the sculpt – she feels like she’s almost been extruded from the original CG. In terms of detail some minor quibbles could be raised over the face, but this is a kit meant to make an impression as a whole and in that respect it definitely succeeds.
One oddity worth noting is the choice of base for the kit; it seems she’s standing on the head of one of of Kuro no Franco’s outlaw henchmen. To my knowledge that’s not not the case in the game (there certainly seems to be no indication of it in the original CG); I’d be a bit more put off by it if it were more obvious, but as-is I think it accomplishes the useful purpose of elevating her to show off her lines a bit better. It certainly drives home the weird mixed-genre vibe of the game.
Production
We’ve come to expect nothing but quality from Alter and they don’t let us down here, presenting a generally high standard of production across the board. The sculpt has no significant casting deficiencies and minimal visible seams or mold lines; the paint job is a bit spottier in areas with some trim work on the cloak that could be improved, but other detail (on the guns, etc.) is quite satisfactory. A wide variety of finishes from matte to gloss are employed to pleasing effect.
The most unexpected element of the kit in terms of production was the inclusion of a built-in soft chest part. It feels similar to that used on Alter’s plainclothes Masane and Wave’s Mikuru (review pending), made of a spongy type of PVC rather than the hard rubber of Orchid’s Chichinoe+2 or the hollow balloons of Daiki’s Sanae. The execution here is decent, but I’m left a bit puzzled as to why it’s included; her chest isn’t particularly convenient or amenable to manipulation in the way that others have been, and her (non-removable) costume doesn’t help with accessibility either.
Conclusion
Alter’s Donne Anonime is a dynamite kit in just about every way, an adjective that that works to describe not only the sculpt and production but also her character and the original source material. Like a stick of trinitrotoluene she’s loud, proud, and will disintegrate your genitals if you get too close when she’s angry; while she’s not the coarsest member of the Jango cast she doesn’t take crap from anybody. This over-the-top vibe is recreated here pretty well, but I can’t help wishing it were somehow a bit more; I’m not sure if the fault lies in the face or the slightly less than vibrant color scheme or somewhere else, but for some reason she strikes just a bit off mark. Regardless, this is a kit that I think a lot of people will enjoy and one that I can unhesitatingly recommend if you find her calling you in that brazenly seductive way.
Overall Score: 8.5/10
+ much love for the original Niθ design
+ accurate sculpt preserves dynamic quality
+ typically high Alter production values
o surprise inclusion of soft chest seems a bit pointless
o paint job suffers somewhat on the trim
o she’s standing on a dude’s head for no apparent reason
– the kit inexplicably feels like less than the sum of its parts
If you’re interested in procuring her and you’d like to support HD, she’s still in stock at J-List; Hobby Search seems to have the best price otherwise.
Jeez, Shingo, a figure review already?
The springy chest is a puzzler. It might just be a standard feature in models to come (I hope).
Good review Shingo as usual. Too bad Alter never made any castoff-ables figurines. Anyway, waiting for mine to arrive too!
Great looking kit……but if it’s not castoffable then why the soft boobs?? Oh well- thanx for the great review Shingo!!
>> standing on a dude’s head
Kinda looks like a hat on a boot to me but then again I was never any good at pictionary.
>>hiero_yo
It’s an alien guy with a bizarre face mask, and that clear pink thing sticking out is his tongue. You can see the shoulder seam of his coat and the lapel just below his chin.
ahh i’ve been thinkin of gettin this before but now that I just got my artbooks from amazon japan I don’t think I’ll be able to get this for awhile lol.
How long do figures stay in production after release? Hopefully down the line when I’m ready to purchase this figure it’ll still be around and available.
looks like an excellent, high-line figure (for a 1/8) and I’m quite pleased with the results as pictured in the review. I got a feeling this is another one I’m gonna like more than Shingo does. To each his own. Yet another of the decent sized lot of figures I have preordered through American sources that are out in JP already, and I’m just…waiting. It’s brutal.
>>lostdog
Gotta make up for lost time this past weekend, there is much afoot to cover. :3
>>Cloudkun
I’m holding out the hope that eventually Alter will see the light and open the floodgates of their true castoff potential… one of these days.
>>Work_Ethic
Soft chest does not equal castoff, alas. Their Masane was similar, and I’d say at this point there are more noncastoffable soft-chested figures than castoffable ones overall.
>>suneo
Figures are often produced in a single batch, unless they become tremendously popular (enough so to justify subsequent reissues). It’s always a risk to put off a figure purchase; if you wait long enough (anywhere from a day to a week to a few months) most of them eventually disappear. :(
>>the_pseudokings
It’s a great figure, don’t get me wrong – any deficiencies (other than the slight errors in trim work) are purely my subjective opinion and should be ignored. I’m sure it won’t disappoint when it finally arrives.
Geez, mine was shipped two days ago and I am still waiting for it.But I guess the million dollar question has been answered….too bad she ain’t “castoff-able”.
So what’s with those “squishy” breasts?
Nice review by the way.
i will buy that pvc if she was not standing on bizzare head, somehow it lose the beauty of this figure
Guess I will still enjoy having her in my collection, even though it ain’t castoffable. Then again, since it’s from Alter, I should have expected it.
I had a thing for sexy ladies in a hat and boots, especially since I saw ‘Even Cowgirls Get the Blues’ and of course, ‘Bad Girls’ starring Drew Barrymore which seemed like the inspiration for this eroge.
p.s. This probably means Ikkitosen Kanu from Alter is also non-castoffable. Guess I can free up some cash for other figures now.

“p.s. This probably means Ikkitosen Kanu from Alter is also non-castoffable. Guess I can free up some cash for other figures now.”
Yep, I’m thinking it’s about time I go start hunting up a Hat of Meat to eat… :(
I’m still looking forward to Kuro no Franco, and can’t wait to see what they cook up for Lily. :3
Awww, well, that’s sort of a let-down… Thanks for the review, Shingo!
Oh yes, I’m definitely keeping my pre-order of Franco. Too bad, I can only get the regular edition, and not the limited edition. (I know, proxy, but I’m thinking it’s such a hassle, and I can use that excuse to save some money as well… 8) )
And yes, I’m want Lily too. Though from the pics, she looks to be wearing a see-thru white top. So I’m wondering if Alter will actually make it…
Excellent review as always, shes a must get. I was unaware there was a limited version of her.
Donne Anonime limited edition
The shotgun is too sweet
>>Anachronism
My pleasure! Alas for the lack of castoff…
>>blacklotus
Lily’s top isn’t quite see-through; check out her profile pic at Getchu for a bit better view.
>>savage
Yeah, the limited edition version was available exclusively through the Nitro+ online shop. The shotgun is pretty sweet. :3
Savage,
Thanks for link to that Limited Edition/Shotgun version of Donne Anonime.”White” also looks, great, don’t you think?
But she is still standing on that weird head…..
I wonder what the hold up is on Lily, it seems like the proto of Franco was floating around at a show not long after Donne was first up for preorder, but we’ve seen no signs of a Lily figure in any form yet and Franco’s been up for preorder for awhile. Maybe it’s just me, and I’m in too much of a rush… well hopefully she’s in production and they just haven’t let her see the light of day yet.
shingo look this version, white pants…
i thought there was only one version.
Donne Anonime Nitro+ limited color version
>>the_pseudokings
I’m guessing it’s just a matter of time, I’m sure a Lily will be coming along eventually. I wouldn’t put money on it, but I’d say next Wonder Festival would be the absolute latest we’ll see her.
>>Yuichi
Yep, that’s the same version savage mentioned earlier in comments. That alternate color version was available exclusively from the Nitro+ online shop (no international purchase available).
hmm after seeing the CG set for this game, I have to say I like Donne Anonime and Franco’s white outfits better than these regular (?) outfits! Too bad the statues didn’t use these as design influences, though they still look great hehe.
Can’t wait to see how Lily will look! Cmon where is that announcement?! lol
I just picked this figure up because it was gorgeous. Has anybody thought about ways to de-emphasize the weird head-thing she’s standing on?
Some ideas I had were to get a piece of dark brown cloth or something with a rock pattern, and wrap it around that head. Another idea I had, which sounds kinda drastic, would be to mask Donne with tape, then carefully spray-paint the weird thing with something to match the ABS plastic base.
What do people think of the spray-paint idea? A big no-no, or something worth trying?
