Kotobukiya updated their official site this afternoon with four five new PVC figures scheduled for release in April of next year! First up is Uesugi Kenshin, one of the main heroines of Alice Soft’s 2006 eroge epic Sengoku Rance (figure originally covered here). She’s due out at 1/8 scale and 7,140 yen retail. Next up is the newest installment in the Venus on the Beach series from DOAX2, Tina. She’s due out at 1/6 scale and 9,240 yen, and like her predecessors sports two different clothing configurations. A limited edition color version is coming from Tecmo. Finally we have a maid version Komaki Manaka from To Heart 2 Another Days and Ichinose Kotomi from Clannad, both due out at 1/8 scale (Manaka at 6,090 yen and Kotomi at 5,040 yen). I’m tempted by the Kenshin, but that face sculpt doesn’t really do her justice… if only Volks would put out some of their stuff in PVC. ;__; Update: Kotobukiya’s April schedule also includes their version of Shining Wind‘s Kureha, now up for preorder at Amiami along with their other April offerings. She’s due out at 1/8 scale and 6,090 yen retail. (no more)
WOW!! I am liking the Tina very much- love the unique pose and red, white, and blue outfit.
The other ones look great as well.
kureha’s left eyebrow seems kinda long, but i’ll end up having it somehow.
Hi Shingo, do you know if this Kotobukiya 1/8 scale Kureha figure is castoffable? As in the tops and bottoms can be removed? (just like the Clalaclan figure from Kotobukiya)
>>Kent
To my knowledge nothing is confirmed regarding Kotobukiya’s Kureha yet, but if I were to guess I’d say her skirt is probably removable, but the top is likely not meant for removal (as in you’ll have to break it to take it off, and nothing beneath will be finished).
Not too bad tonight for Kotobukiya, but the best by far for me is the Kureha..not the same standard as Max Factory’s, but still, a nice selection. Only reason I say that is that Max’s is a larger scale, so has more to ogle! @_@
I rather like the Kureha. I’ve also been diggin’ the DOAX2 series from Koto – they’ve finally got passed the “doll face” look that lessened my appreciation for their older Tecmo figures, and the 2 outfits from the game with each figure is cool. On top of that here in the US we get a really good deal on Koto figures (in general). Ayane & Lei-fang’s US releases retailed for only $55, which made them automatic preorders (I get a discount off of that too), hopefully Tina will follow along (though her yen price is higher than the previous if memory serves so…). Kureha should retail here for $40 or $45 and after discount will be a total no-brainer. I just got in the Koto Neige (based off the Shining Tears art book cover) and it’s excellent, also quite large for 1/8 Scale.
thank you koto..
after seena, she’ll be next :)
*zecty will hit my mailbox soon
That’s odd.
If that figure of Tina is from DOAX2, shouldn’t her breasts be made out of water balloons?
