Event News: Clayz Moero Matsuri scheduled for November 4th

Hobby Channel is reporting that figure maker Clayz will be holding their fourth annual “Moero Matsuri” in Akihabara on November 4th. It’s a small event held to showcase Clayz kits new and old, as well as to sell limited edition garage kits, PVCs, and this time a new cold cast version of the sculpted Sukumizu Pettan figure that debuted in resin at last year’s event. I went last year but didn’t manage to write up a report; if I have my wits together and can make it down to Tokyo I’ll try to do a more thorough job this time around. (no more)

Figure News: Movic announces Corticarte Apa Lagranges PVC from Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica

Word is in from GA Graphic today that Movic has begun production on a Corticarte Apa Lagranges (adult version) PVC figure from Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica. She’s due out in January of ’08 at 5,880 yen retail, 1/8 scale (21 cm tall), and with a sculpt from Yami Yoroi (Yamiyo no Hikari), another member of invincible sculpting circle Tekkoryuu. Despite some sketchiness in the Movic production values, in my opinion this sculpt kicks Goodsmile’s Corticarte to the curb – she’ll palm your face and rub it into her capacious bosoms until you agree. Figure News: Wafuudou Ganguten’s Prier PVC from La Pucelle up for preorder

We reported two weeks ago on the announcement of a La Pucelle Prier PVC figure coming from Wafuudou Ganguten, and now here she is! Hobby Stock’s listing confirms the figure’s December release date, 25 cm height, 8,980 yen price (ouch….) and sculpt by the peerless Yamanaka Eiji of circle Tekkoryuu. The high price on this will likely cause many to hesitate, a damn shame given the figure’s many obvious merits (though I do hope future production shots reveal an amended face sculpt). (no more)

Figure News: Alpha Omega’s C.C. and Karen from Code Geass up for preorder

Hobby Stock has the distinction today of being the first to list the maiden launch figures of Alpha Omega‘s PVC lineup: Karen and C.C. from Code Geass. We reported yesterday that Alpha Omega’s official site had just opened with a showcase of these two figures (first introduced at last summer’s Wonder Festival), and as anticipated the turnaround to their preorder listing was speedy indeed. With Hobby Stock leading the charge other shops can be expected to soon follow; without knowing the numbers in the production run for these I’d advise a prompt preorder if you really want them, as the popularity of Geass (combined with the Alter / Megahouse reputation for quality) can’t be underestimated. Update: we now have confirmation of the listing, as they’re both up at Amiami and have been restored at Hobby Stock as well. (no more)

Bishoujo Game News: Ar Tonelico 2 promotional video online

The October 25th release of Gust / Banpresto’s Ar Tonelico 2 looms closer, and in anticipation a promotional video was made available in the “Special” section of the official site yesterday (accessible via the Flash interface, or via direct download in WMV format here). As I don’t own a PS2 my enthusiasm for the title is hard to explain, but this game is looking seriously awesome – the music is just as good as in the original, and this time around they’ve really upped the ante in terms of the 2D and 3D animation. So pretty… As the original game was released by NIS America in English I’m guessing we can expect a conversion of the sequel as well, but those looking for instant gratification can pick up the R2 release of Ar Tonelico 2 at Play Asia (the soundtrack is available as well, for poor PS2-less sops like me who can only enjoy the game vicariously).
