First announced at Wonder Festival Summer 2007, today’s noon Amiami update brought the listing of Megahouse‘s Excellent Model CORE Queen’s Blade Airi and Nix PVC figures up for preorder. Both are set to retail in December at 5,250 yen and (presumably) the same 1/8 scale and extreme castoffability as their predecessors. We’ll keep you updated as more comes to light on this pair, they’re looking really nice… :3 Update: Preorders have closed at Amiami for both Nix and Airi. According to hobby shop Digitamin’s store blog the two are being produced in relatively small lots compared to other recent Megahouse QB figures, so preorders are advised ASAP for those looking to pick them up. (no more)
I am loving the Nix figure- I have a two Queens Blade pvc figures and they are both super nice!! I would definetly have great confidence in any future figures produced. And these two are on par with that faith.
both are nice figures, but won’t be getting them. if i were i’d choose the nix over the airi.
nix is looking like she’ll become one of my all time favorites
They do look okay, but neither strike any chords with me (at least at this time). Maybe later…?
Man….Nix looks amazing. I don’t see it on preorder anywhere yet though.
All Queen’s Blade figures look horrible to me, except Nix. I sense great fap in this one.
Nyx is very much a sure-buy! But I’m having second thoughts on Airi, the scythe is just raised too high and the overall pose of the figure looks awkward to me…
I have all of the current Megahouse QB figures (yeah, I’m a freak), and I have to say that they’re very well done. They’re possibly some of my favorite figures in 1/8th scale PVC that I own.
It seems like the recent trend with the Megahouse QB figures is an easier cast-off. The most recent two (Tomoe and Elina) are probably the easiest cast-off jobs I’ve ever seen in a figure. On the other end of the scale, it’s an absolute nightmare to cast-off on Reina, one of the first figures in the line. The way the trend is going, these two new figures will probably cast-off themselves once you take them out of the package. Extreme castoffability, indeed!
I have to say, Nix looks extremely shiny. Not that it’s a bad thing, since it goes with her flame mastery thing. Definitely looking forward to her figure. Airi kinda looks off, maybe it’s her pose or something. Even the scythe looks weird to me. Sadly, since she’s one of my favorite QB designs (undead maid fetish?), she’s an automatic buy for me. Well, there goes another 10k yen.
Completely agree with Rephin about the Reina figure being a nightmare- you practically have to preform surgery to get her naked!! Take off the right hand, head, right forearm, torso, and her left arm. Remove the leather straps unhooking them from her back plate…..LOL. I have yet to get her armour all the way off, I give up in fear of breaking the figure, or her gear. But that to me is her only downside as she is a very dynamic figure. Great muscualr butt too. (yes, I said it)
HAHA- about fetishes- it seems Queens Blade is trying to cover all the fetishes with their figures. You have the Warrior Girl Fetish with Reina, you have the Loli fetish with the little girl with the huge ax (shes a dwarven pricess with the body of an 11 year old). You have your girl samurai fetish with Tomoe , you have the hot elven fetish with that hunter girl bending over. You have the Egyptian Princess fetish with Menace, you have the angel fetish with the angel girl. Now, they have covered the maid fetish and the “rich bitch” fetish with these two new ones……
Not that I am counting or anything…..:)
Airi is probably my favorite QB girl, but no way I’m buying this. Megahouse couldn’t have picked a more boring pose for her…
And more limited runs? What’s up with that?
F5, here we go again…
Yeah, with Reina you have to work for it. The last piece of armor, you have to slip from the bottom, and this is extremely hard. The leather strap of her armor is smaller in diameter than her large hips (large hips = muscular butt, LOL). Since the underside of the armor is painted too, this process can leave brown paint on the skin of the figure, which is never good. =( If they had made Reina’s armor anything like her sister Elina’s armor, you could just pop some pegs, and bam – instant cast-off gratification.
I know that the Airi figure isn’t really that great, but I still feel the need to get it. After all, the alternative is the 1/6th scale figure by Griffon, which also has a somewhat boring pose, but costs more than the price of 3 Megahouse QB figures. No thanks. Here’s to hoping that if Megahouse continues this line (and if they add Nanael, Menas, or Irma, the only remaining favorites of mine that need PVC figures) they don’t mess up the poses quite so much.
Wait, if I have a fetish for an undead maid, does that make me a necrophiliac? O_o;
Hey Rephin!
Here’s a link to a Nanael PVC/Resin combo being put out by Griffon….don’t look at the price. I have no idea what they are doing with this one- if she is going to be a resin figure on a pvc base or what but here you go.

I think those two look nice and I might be one of the few to like Airi over Nix. I think she’s a cute looking figure.
I have 4 of the QB figures and I can vouch for the pain in the butt it is to strip Reina…cause of her big butt :P There is a easy way to take off the armor without worrying about breaking the armor. It’s basically soaking the upper torso in hot water for a few minutes. The plastic will be soft enough that you can squeeze the armor off without fear of anything breaking. So whoever is still struggling to see Reina in the buff, there’s a way without feeling it’s a lost cause.
Weird stuff, Amazon was offering both QB P-4 figures at 1838 yen for an extremely short period of time. I’m not sure whether it was a server glitch or some promotion, but if all goes well, I’ll have a lot of Nixs in my room come December.
