We were just talking about this kit in comments to our recent Max Factory Mai review, and now here she is! Amiami beats Daiki themselves to the scoop with their preorder offering up this evening for Cobra-Kai‘s 1/5 scale (33 cm tall) Shiranui Mai kit, coming in PVC as reported. She’s listed at the rather steep price point of 14,700 yen retail with an expected mid-December release. Now that she’s up at Amiami we can expect to see her elsewhere shortly, so avast yon preorders~! (no more)
At last, another 1/5, preorder time! Any other special features?
Not that I’m aware of as yet, all we have to go on is the visual evidence in that one image. It might just be my imagination but she seems rather less attached to her kimono top in photos of the original kit… We’ll have to wait and see what the PVC prototype brings, I’m thinking.
Hope this one will be available in my country. For now I’ll just sit in front of my PC and start licking the monitor.
I kinda preferred her facial expression on the original kit.
LOL- we were just talking about his kit!!! I kinda prefer the original kit too- something about the eyes here- they look really really dark. But the thought of getting a 1/5th scale pvc figure is really tempting. She seems to be missing stuff from the model too, the fan and the ropey bits on her back….I’m gonna have to wait for more pics- I want to see if the top is castoffable….
for that price I am hoping it will be…:P
This and the Kanu kit….and the Mia and Rickenbach Guitar Girl…..christmas is coming early for me..
My poor kids….I’ll just say they were naughty when they see nothing under the tree this year…>:)
Hey! It’s like they are talking to me, hahaha. I just made my first comment in the recent Mai review expressing my hope for this figure, so this calls for a second. This is why I come here daily, I get drip fed small highs, sometimes multiple times a week. *giddiness*
I like the look of this figure, but the Max Factory one is by far the best I have ever seen of Mai – so much more like the original designs of her than any other to my eyes.
STILL, this is a figure that is too well-made to say anything too bad about. It’s a fine work, as far as this photo is to go by. It’s nice to get another Mai figure. The price point is too much for me, though! ^^
This Mai isn’t really doing it for me either. Yes, I have been shunned for not liking both this Mai and the Max Factory Mai but I’m not sure what it is. It’s a nice figure but not enough for me to get it imo.
