In today’s update: Kamisama Kazoku anime start date and character sketches online, a Sasami Mahou Shoujo Club promo movie, Fushigi Boshi no Futago Hime Gyu!, Galge.com scoops Kyou no 5 no 2 (think about it…), xxxHolic TV anime site pre-open, Cave announces STG Pink Sweets, the week in eroge releases, a fetching pair of Rin and Saber dolls, and the usual roundup of ero and figure miscellany.
Media Side
- According to the show’s official site, Toei Animation’s Kamisama Kazoku will be broadcast on Animax starting May 18th. Some rather funky character sketches were posted as well yesterday, which I’m looking forward to seeing animated… this could be an interesting item.
- The official Sasami Mahou Shoujo Club site has a new promotional movie online today, along with the announcement of its April broadcast launch on WOWOW.
- Starting in April, Saturday mornings will see the return of Fushigi Boshi no Futago Hime to TV Tokyo in the form of Gyu!. A Fushifuta wallpaper is available today from the official site as well.
- A preview and afureko (after recording) interview is available today for Kyou no 5 no 2, courtesy of Galge.com. The fact that this is appearing at Galge and not somewhere else speaks volumes; scroll down for screenshots and an episode by episode preview of the fanservice (text only, alas) that will make an appearance in the show.
- A few more rough character sketches are online today for Hime-sama no Goyoujin. The Rozen Maiden is strong with this one… speaking of Rozen Maiden, an official site for the duellwalzer PS2 game from Taito was online yesterday, with the game set for a March release.
- TBS’s official xxxHolic TV anime site is pre-open today, with the show itself slated for broadcast in April.
- The official site for Cave’s newest STG offering is now online, and it makes Mushihime-sama look like Metal Gear Solid by comparison. How moe (or “erokawaii”, as the site proclaims) can you get and still retain cred with your hardcore gaming base? It looks like they’re opting not to fix an unbroken wheel, as the character page sports the bevy of rose-themed maidens from another recent STG release, Ibara.
- Hobby Channel scoops a set of Laughing Man goods today, available from Geestore.com and other online retailers, presumably.
- Telecom brings us the penultimate installment of their long-running “Kore ga Animation no Oshigoto Da!!” feature, introducing the addition of voices, music, and sound effects to the nearly completed product.
- Bolze draws a Kashimashi poster in the March issue of Megami Magazine, out on January 30th.
Ero Side
- Today’s musical offering comes in the form of the BGM currently playing over at Tama Soft’s Lost Child official site, an mp3 of which is available for download a couple of posts into the news buffer (the “kt2 remix version”).
- New character introductions are online today for Navel’s current project Oretachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai.
- Notus’s Engeki Club has posted rough design character sketches to each of the profiles on its Characters page today.
- If you have the latest version of Flash on your machine you should be able to view the preview of some of the in-game animation from Squeez’s Honoo no Haramase Jinsei. Nothing to write home about, I’m guessing.
- Akiba-k has a special page up today for the pending release of Fulltime’s Eroi, which while currently lacking in substantive content will hopefully provide more than the game’s official site seems willing to divulge.
- Galge.com scoops the 11 eroge titles on sale this Friday, February 2nd. Leading the list is certainly Cocktail Soft / F and C’s Pia Carrot he Youkoso! G.O., sure to spark several dozen PVC figure releases over the next half-decade that no one will recognize. Also out are S.M.L’s Re:, An*tique’s Shinobue Renka, RaSeN’s Hime Miko, and Tiger Soft’s Musunde, Hiraite.
- April 28th will see the launch of Pink Pineapple’s eroanime webcasting portal, Pinpai TV. According to the Galge.com article it’s slated to have 300 titles available at launch, but I have to wonder whether such a service will be sustainable by a single eroanime brand.

Hobby Side
- Type Moon updates with information on a pair of Saber and Rin dolls currently in production by HAF. They don’t look half bad, but the 15,000 yen price tag will make most customers shy away, I’m guessing.
- Another picture of Atelier Sai’s upcoming Full Metal Panic Chidori PVC is online today, this one with the 70’s formica background typical of the brand’s official production shots. It certainly doesn’t flatter her at all. -_-
- Wanfesu Corner
- Hobby Channel scoops the event offerings of Goodsmile and Max Factory. Neko Arc will steal your soul, and if she doesn’t Dark Saber surely will. The Max scoop fails to provide visual data for the lingerie Mizuho set, alas.
- Something compels me to mention Akibajin’s review of Megahouse’s SEED Destiny [ERO] Stellar ver. 2 PVC again. I don’t know why.

Whew, mostly caught up there.
Please someone tell me the name of Cave chara-designer, I think I have taken a fancy on his works.
Kyou no 5 no 2 on Galge, what a surprise. The original manga wasn’t that ecchi, so will there something more than two japanese dubs on this release ? Like, you know, ecchi bonus scenes ?
Slightly off-topic, but are you having problems with your server/host? I keep getting connectivity problems (“site unavailable”) to your site.
:O at bolze drawing a Megami poster. I wonder how that’ll work though, his art is usually sketchy and he rarely does colored art. It’d lose some of its charm if they just ink over it.
I wonder if the popularity of Kaede will affect Navel’s latest game.

A current marketing strategy is to have bonus/enhanced scenes (or even episodes!) for the DVD only.
eg. Girls Bravo had the darkness/glare/steam-filters removed for the DVD, Kamichu! has 4 DVD-only extra episodes
Iirc, Lime-iro Sentikan shaved off ecchi scenes for the TV broadcast but left those scenes in the DVD.

I’ve noticed some considerable slowing myself over the past week or so, and the database server was offline for maybe a half an hour last week, but no outright connection refusals. Worrysome, though. I wonder if anyone else is having the same problems.

The bookstore near my house may still have a browsable copy of Megami available, if it does I’ll try to find out the particulars.
The new Navel game is looking a bit darker than the pastel rainbow that was Shuffle and Tick Tack, at least in the design scheme. I’m guessing they’ll try to build on the Kaede craze if anything.
