In today’s update: a Moegaku clarification (and how), Bible Black’s Imari: the gift that keeps on giving, Muse does Hitozuma Kasumi-san, Dengeki Animaga digests, School Rumble figures, and Keitaro’s newest incarnation feels the icy hand of death upon him.
Anime Side
- A promotional clip is online for the upcoming Ken Akamatsu Itsudatte My Santa OVA. It seems they grabbed thirty seconds from a random scene in the middle of the episode so aside from Keitaro (edit: Keitaro) being strangled, it’s a bit tough to tell what’s going on.
- [NOT ANIME] I was wildly off the mark in yesterday’s assessment of Moegaku. It’s not a book, it’s a PC dating sim, and it’s coming out in November. The official site was updated yesterday with two promo commercials and two voice-only introductions of the product, as well as a flash demo of one of the scenes; after having experienced all of the above I can state with confidence that this item will take otaku English learning to new heights (depths?) of pure comedy gold.
Aside from the flash promo (accessible via the button marked “flash” on the main page) the other bits of media are in some crappy proprietary Windows Media container that Firefox doesn’t know how to handle (.wax, anyone?) so you may have to switch to IE to view them. Screenshots and character bios are here, and if you scroll down on the main page there is a glimpse of the delicious Engrish that will be in the offing: “I was banished not only from the devildom but also from this world, where shall I go?” and “I will get that coterie magazine whether or no I sleep.” You might think the latter is a typo, but wait until you hear it: the game is fully voiced. Check out the flash demo for a taste of what’s to come.
- Dengeki Animaga shifts gears back into a monthly release pattern with yesterday’s release of Dengeki Animaga THE BEST ISSUE 1. In addition to a couple of new offerings, the current issue provides a digest of thirty posters taken from the past three years of Animaga, centered around a “swimsuit” theme. The month’s special offering is a large (B2 size) To Heart 2 swimsuit poster. I can’t vouch for the quality of this issue yet, but it’s certainly an interesting proposition; if you missed the chance to pick up Animaga in years past this may be the only way to get your hands on its Azumanga Daioh, Komugi, Stratos 4, and Kiddy Grade posters.
- Web Anime Style launches a Top wo Nerae! 2 “artwork” series of character design sketches with this first installment featuring Nono.
- [NOT ANIME] Konami announces a PSP port of Tokimeki Memorial; color me unimpressed.
Ero Side
- One of the last stragglers to pop onto the radar from last month’s offline exile is Lost Script’s Sabae no Oh, updated today with some sample CG images. The game refers to itself as a “digitalized gamebook”, and indeed that’s what it seems to be; an unvoiced, 18+, dice – wielding choose your own adventure book on acid. Sample images that aren’t 3:4? Pretension ahoy, but hey, it might be good.
- Milky Anime’s Bible Black Complete Box has a sample video online for the new original scenario, “Imari Ryoujoku Genba”, to be included on the disc of extras that comes with the set.
- In other eroanime news, Muse has opened its official site for Hitozuma Kasumi-san vol. 1. The knowledge that Muse is behind it lends credence to the hope that the animation will live up to the promise of the stills; the studio has a stellar track record thus far. [original game]
- Galge.com scoops the seven eroge titles on sale Friday, November 4th, with Discovery’s Hitozuma Sentai Aisaiger, Tomato’s Himemusha, and Le Chocolat’s Yanezutai no Kimi he being chief among them.
- FlyingShine’s Jokyoushi: Rinkan Kyoushitsu finally gets a release date, though nothing more; the classroom opens on December 22nd.

Figure Side
- On Sale Today: Amada Insatsu Kakou’s School Rumble Figure Collection. Hobbynet’s picture certainly doesn’t do this item justice, but the Moeyo! Akibajin Blog steps into the breach with an exhaustive review of the Eri and Mikoto figures.
- [LATE – BREAKING EDIT] These Rozen Maiden figures from Chara-Ani are set for an official release on December 29th at Comiket 69, but it seems they’ll also be available over the web to ship in early January.
