Clayz’s Tama-nee, Sasara preorders open

A pair of figures from Clayz that we first saw announced at Hobby Channel several months ago finally hit the preorder circuit yesterday: their Kousaka Tamaki and Kusugawa Sasara (school uniform versions) from To Heart 2. Both are sculpted by Miyakawa Takeshi (T’s System) and both are scheduled to retail in October at 1/6 scale (height unspecified) and 6,090 yen. Neither figure is known to be castoffable. Images of both can be found below:

Catching Up: Dakimakura

The process of filling in the gaps from the past two months has to start somewhere, and there could be much worse places to start than the esoteric world of the hug pillow. In addition to standard retail releases this summer’s Comiket once again brought a bumper crop of doujin works to the field, so many that it would be impossible to cover them all here – so I’ll content myself with hitting a few of the more awesome highlights:

Kotobukiya’s Clalaclan, Nanako preorders open

Kotobukiya updated their vendor page this afternoon with listings for the pair, and Amiami soon followed with preorder pages up for Shining Wind‘s Clalaclan Noire (Noir) and a newly announced Nanako PVC figure from To Heart 2: Another Days. Both are scheduled for release in September, with Clalaclan coming at 6,090 yen retail with a sculpt from Otoyama Houjun (other details available in our earlier coverage) and Nanako to retail at 4,725 yen, 1/8 scale (16 cm tall), with a sculpt from Nisshii. Toy’s Planning does To Heart 2’s Konomi

An update to the official Toy’s Planning blog this morning announced the production of a Yuzuhara Konomi PVC figure from To Heart 2. Details are scarce so far, but the post reveals that she’s the work of sculptor Onuma Yoshimasa of circle Country Girl. Release information is unknown and the photos provided are of the figure still undergoing revision, so we can expect some tweaks before the final production model is unveiled; we’ll be keeping an eye out for future news on this as well as information on the lethally cute To Heart 2 collection figures Toypla has in the works. In related news it seems their polystone Shukujo Kazumi figure reissue will ship on May 21st; I am sorely tempted… ;_; (no more)

Griffon’s maid/school swimsuit Sasara in PVC

Hot on the heels of their nekomimi Kanu Griffon has announced the second PVC conversion of a resin kit they had for sale at the recent WHF Ariake 18, the Morikawa Hiroaki-sculpted Kusugawa Sasara (school swimsuit maid ver.) from To Heart 2. This PVC incarnation is scheduled for release in September at 6,720 yen retail and 1/7 scale (precise size undisclosed); this kit follows Griffon’s Maaryan-senpai as the second in their “To Heart 2 swimsuit series”. Gallery below:

WHF Ariake 18: To Heart 2, Fate, Nanoha

With the early ’08 release of the To Heart 2: Another Days expansion new life was breathed into the venerable Leaf bishoujo game franchise, resulting in a significant garage kit presence at WHF Ariake 18 which we document here. Nanoha StrikerS continues into 2008 with the strong showing it had last year, and while reduced in number there were still a few Fate/stay night kits of note that were worth taking a look at:

Clayz clothes-changing Tamaki, Manaka preorders open

Thanks to Diebi Manabu for pointing this out in comments to a recent post: a pair of To Heart 2 figures that we originally scooped last November have finally been made available for preorder. Both are prepainted, assembled PVC figures from maker Clayz and feature sculpts from Miyakawa Takeshi (T’s System). Kousaka Tamaki (swimsuit ver.) is 1/6 scale (height unspecified), and is scheduled for release in July at 6,090 yen. Komaki Manaka is scheduled for release in August, likewise at 1/6 scale (height unspecified) and 6,090 yen retail. No word is yet available on the third Tama-nee sculpt announced last November, but we’ll keep an eye out for the preorder listing and post when it appears. Images below:

Figure Review: New Line’s Kousaka Tamaki (private ver.)

I had never purchased a New Line figure before this one was announced (in the past they were primarily known for expensive cold casts whose looks never quite fit my budget), but when the fishnet version of their “private” Kousaka Tamaki was announced my willpower crumbled and I placed the preorder. Preview shots hinted at a figure that positively exuded erotic pheromones, and it was with high hopes that I embarked upon this review following the figure’s release last month. While ultimately the finished product isn’t quite as impressive as the prototype shots I’m still quite happy with the end result, explored in detail below:

Griffon PVC announcements, event news

Figure maker Griffon updated last night with several bits of interesting news, including two new PVC figure listings and announcements of what they’ll have for sale and on display at World Hobby Festival Ariake 18. The newly announced PVCs are finished model renditions of two resin kits we’ve covered here in the past: the Harada Takehito interpretations of Demonbane‘s Al Ajif and Fate/stay night’s Saber. Both are scheduled for release in August at 5,775 yen retail (tax included), non-scale (15 cm tall), with Al Ajif’s sculpt from Yoshino Atsushi and Saber’s sculpt from Katou Taichi. Both figures are currently available for preorder on Griffon’s official site, and should be listed elsewhere soon. Event news and images below:

Griffon presents Maaryan-senpai (school swimsuit uniform ver.)

Figure maker Griffon updated yesterday evening with a listing for a new PVC incarnation of Maaryan-senpai from Aquaplus bishoujo game franchise To Heart 2. This “sukumizu seifuku” version is scheduled to retail in August at 6,720 yen, 1/7 scale (23 cm tall) with a sculpt from Morikawa Hiroaki and comes with (presumably) detachable skirt and a discarded pair of panties. Preorders are currently open at Griffon’s site and will be elsewhere soon as well, presumably. Kit images below:

Rumor: To Heart 2 Another Days lacks Ikuno route?

An update at Moon Phase has lent credence to the rumor that the long-awaited latest installment in the To Heart 2 franchise, Another Days, lacks a story route for Komaki Ikuno. The invalid younger sister of Komaki Manaka was a big draw leading up to the release of the Another Days expansion, so if this news is true it could mean we’re in for another round of hellfire from irate Japanese fans similar to the ones that accompanied the release of Light’s Dies Irae and Cuffs’ Garden. We’ll be watching for further news on this; the game goes on sale this Friday, February 29th.

Both kits are castoffable down to their lingerie (in the original resin versions at least, and likely in the PVC as well), and both clock in at ~19 cm tall, are listed at 1/7 scale, and both will retail at 6,640 yen – Manaka in May, and Sasara in June. According to the product entry recently created for it at Mangaoh, Dengeki G’s Festival Deluxe vol. 2 will come with some awesome extras: first is a Kouno Harumi dakimakura cover, one of the heroines of To Heart 2: Another Days. It’s single-sided, features an original illustration, and is 50 x 155 cm in size. Second is a Kousaka Tamaki “contoured breast” (oppai) mousepad, featuring another original illustration; and finally a Yamada Michiru / Yoshioka Chie cellphone cleaner and strap. December 21st 2007 figure news roundup (updated)

A whole lot of action on the figure front to sum up today, including a continuation of Cerberus Project’s collaboration with Wafuudou Ganguten, a faux trap figure from Toy’sworks that’s almost Bridgetlicious, a bunny Haruhi + guitar prize figure, a review of the Haruhi itasha model first seen back at the Miyazawa Model exhibition, a step-by-step tour through a Nakoruru castoff, a couple of new angles on Alter’s Kanu, and a Keumaya update. Check it out! Update: Keumaya’s new items up at Toranoana, Revoltech Fraeulein Asuka and Play Stationery Rin up for preorder!

[ERO] Figure News: To Heart 2 XRATED Kousaka Tamaki (private ver.) coming in PVC from New Line

A surprise bit of sexy figure news this evening from maker New Line, as Getchu just put a listing up for an incredibly erotic PVC rendition of To Heart 2‘s Kousaka Tamaki. She’s available in both a regular grey stocking version and an Irisawa limited fishnet version, both scheduled for release on April 30th of next year at 26 cm tall (1/6 scale?) and 8,190 yen retail. The sculpt is from New Line regular Goemon, and unless I’m much mistaken this is the first general release PVC from a maker formerly known only for their cold casts; we’ll be watching development with considerable interest as this is the first Tama-nee that has caught my attention since Daiki’s offering earlier this year. Pictures below:

Figure News Roundup: Saber Alter, Shuraki, Win-chan, Manaka cold cast

A few updates on figures we’ve been covering over the past few days: Solid Theater’s Saber Alter is now up at the maker’s official site, up at Goodsmile, and up for preorder. More interesting is the news that she is 1/8 scale, but she was resculpted based on a 1/10 kit (see the lowest picture in that entry). She retails in March at 6,800 yen (ouch) with a sculpt from Toda Satoshi. In Shuraki news, Vol. 2 Riu Meifeng shipped from Goodsmile yesterday and is shipping from wholesalers today. Vol. 4 Needa was also updated today with a first look at the interior of the artbook that accompanies her – very tasty stuff. Finally, the new Win-chan we mentioned earlier today is now up for preorder in both regular and limited edition colors, and New Line has a preorder listing up for a Komaki Manaka cold cast (March release, 1/6 scale, 24 cm tall, 14,490 yen retail) that justice demands see a PVC release at half the price. Justice! (no more)

Figure News: Kotobukiya’s Katsuragi Misato, Komaki Ikuno PVCs up for preorder

Kotobukiya has updated its official release info page with data on two new PVC releases coming down the pipe in March 2008, and both are now up for preorder at Hobby Stock: first is Evangelion‘s Katsuragi Misato (scooped here), clocking in at 1/6 scale and 7,140 yen retail. Second is Komaki Ikuno from To Heart 2, who is 1/8 scale and comes with a functional wheelchair at 6,090 yen retail. Both have charm points to recommend them, Misato for being Misato and generally underserved when it comes to figures, and Ikuno for her wheelchair (which is sort of sad, but you know that thing is going to be used in all sorts of creative ways). High resolution galleries of both below:

[ERO] Figure News: castoff update – Metamo YUKI N., Resinya Sasara (updated)

A couple of small castoff status updates today: first from Moeyo we have word that Bandai’s upcoming Metamo Yuki that we scooped at the end of last month is cast in a separate piece from her dress, which may point to castoff of some kind (though the odds of anything detailed underneath are negligible). Also, word is in from ASCII that Resinya’s Sasara PVC (scooped in September) is in all likelihood bra-clad beneath her blouse. Rather disappointing for those of us anticipating a full castoff… 11/18 Update: Senaka Blog has shots up of Max Factory’s POLO System Fauna from Megachu in all her cast off glory, as well as sample castoff shots of the Guernsey version of Tsukasa Jun’s Holstein Hanako-san. Incriminating evidence below:

Figure News: Clayz presents To Heart 2 XRATED’s Kusugawa Sasara

I could just bump the earlier post yet again but I figured this was worth its own original mention: last night Hobby Channel revealed that Clayz will be producing yet another To Heart 2 PVC figure, Kusugawa Sasara. Like Tama-nee and Manaka before her she’s listed at 1/6 scale and 5,800 yen retail, scheduled for release in the spring of 2008. Of the four TH2 figures announced in this Clayz blitz thus far this is the one I’m liking the looks of the most, though I’m still thinking that when it comes down to it Resinya’s offering may be the only PVC Sasara for me. Figure News: T’s System Tama-nee, Manaka PVCs coming from Clayz

Late last night Hobby Channel updated with a pair of scoops on two new To Heart 2 figures coming from sculptor Miyagawa Takeshi and PVC maker Clayz: a Kousaka Tamaki PVC and a Komaki Manaka PVC. Both are 1/6 scale and set to retail at 5,800 yen next spring. Neither of these does much for me personally, but it’s nice to see Clayz getting a bit more active on the PVC side of things again. If only they’d put out some of the material showcased at the Moe~ro Matsuri. 07/11/13 Update: Hobby Channel scooped yet another Clayz Tama-nee figure last night, with the same release specifications as the earlier two. I wonder what’s up with the sudden rush of announcements… (no more)

Goods News: weekend hug pillow roundup

Via the Dakimakura Integrated Research Institute and my own random surfing: several dakimakura items of interest came to light over the weekend, the first of which is a pillowcase from goods maker Axia featuring Maaryan-sempai from To Heart 2 XRATED. The case sports two original illustrations from artist Urotan and clocks in at 160 x 50 cm, scheduled to retail in late December at 10,500 yen (telephone card included). Next, word is in from Chara@ that they have two eroge-based pillowcases in the works: one featuring the tragically recalled Atu Works game Oaruji no Tame ni Kane wa Naru and original artwork by Amakawa Akito (sample here); the other from Black Rainbow’s [ERO] Saiminjutsu 2 featuring Sakurai Sawa and original art from Yoshino Keiko. Both cases are double-sided and will retail in late December at 150 x 50 cm and 12,000 yen. Finally, Toranoana has listings up for a pair of mechamusume-themed pillowcases from the pages of MC Akushizu vol. 4‘s “do you like aircraft carrier sisters?” series: the Makishima Azusa illustrated Kuubo Ootori and the Usami Haruka illustrated Kuubo Akagi. Both are 150 x 55 cm, double sided and scheduled for release at 7,140 yen in January; Tora preorders close on 11/16 for Akagi and 11/23 for Ootori. Pictures below:

The four items in the mini makura lineup are Eruru and Aruru from Utawarerumono, and Konomi and Tama-nee from the To Heart 2 OVA. Pictures below:

The sculpt is from Ogawa Youzou, and she’s scheduled for release in April of ’08 at 1/10 scale (11.5 cm tall) and 4,725 yen retail. With her listed at Wave’s official site preorders will likely appear shortly as well. In other news from Wave, they’re releasing a limited edition Kousaka Tamaki (white swimsuit ver.) PVC from To Heart 2 in commemoration of Mediaworks/Dengeki’s 15th anniversary. 500 copies will be available at the Dengeki Matsuri on November 24th-25th, with another 500 available for order online from the 26th. [ERO] Figure News: Taki Corporation’s Komaki Ikuno PVC from To Heart 2 up for preorder

Word is in from Amiami last night that Taki Corporation‘s Komaki Ikuno (DVD jacket ver.) PVC figure is now up for preorder. Based on the jacket illustration from volume 2 of the To Heart 2 OVA, she’s meant to come as a pair with her older sister Manaka. She’s set for release in December at 25 cm tall (16 scale?) and a retail price of 9,240 yen, and is fully castoffable; with a face sculpt that could be use to frighten small children I’m not sure who will be in the market for such a misshapen item, but she’s out there now for fans to pass their own judgement. Wafuudou recently took a trip to Cerberus’s workshop in Seoul, and presents the exclusive scoop of two new PVC figures as well as several other Cerberus kits in the works – see below for details!
