Daiki Kougyou does Kanu Unchou, Vol. 13-style

Daiki Kougyou updated their official site today with a listing for a new figure of Ikkitousen’s Kanu Unchou, based on the cover illustration of the manga’s 13th volume. The sculpt is from Hagii Shunji (Studio Saru Bunshitsu), and the figure is scheduled to retail in December at 1/6 scale (28 cm tall) and 16,591 yen. The kit is castoffable, coming with both a removable robe (carried in the hand) and skirt, as well as a replaceable un-bandaged chest part. Preorders were open at Daiki’s site but have since been temporarily retracted; international preorder listings are expected to appear shortly. Full gallery below:

Figure Review: Shuraki vol. 4 – Nida (Needa) Schuetlich

Volume four in the wildly popular series of Shuraki multimedia figures is in some respects a return to more familiar territory, as design duty for Nida was entrusted to the ubiquitous Yamashita Shunya. His designs have been adapted in figure form by just about every major PVC manufacturer in the past few years, but as the first Yamashita offering from Goodsmile there was curiosity regarding how the maker would handle the adaptation compared to those with longer track records. As we’ve come to expect with this series the result is very favorable indeed:

Yamato’s Bonnie, Nasubi-sama preorders open

Amiami posted preorder listings over the noon hour today for two new offerings from Yamato that we’ve had our eye on for the past couple of months: Doubutsu Nee-chan Inu Bonnie, a Yamazaki Kouichi (Tandem Twin) original, and Nasubi-sama, based on the “eggplant girl” illustration from the Okama-illustrated Food Girls artbook and sculpted by Shunji Hagii of Studio Saru Bunshitsu. Bonnie is set to retail in July at 8,190 yen, 18 cm tall (scale unspecified) with optional face part, chest part, glasses, eye mask, and base included, while Nasubi-sama is also coming in July at 8,180 yen, 1/6 scale (26 cm tall), with castoffable skirt and chest covering.
