Queen’s Gate Shiranui Mai combat artbook announced

The Queen’s Gate lineup was augmented yesterday with the announcement both on the series’ official site as well as online shop listings of the coming release of a Shiranui Mai combat artbook! The buxom heroine of the King of Fighters / Fatal Fury game series will be illustrated by Izumi Mahiru, doujin artist and eroge character designer of titles including Light’s R.U.R.U.R. The book will be in the standard Queen’s Blade format (64 pages, hardcover, full color) and is scheduled for release on October 31st. Cover image below:

[ERO] Figure Review: Daiki Kougyou’s Shiranui Mai from King of Fighters (Fatal Fury)

One of the highly anticipated figures of the latter half of 2007, Daiki Kougyou’s Toushirou-sculpted Mai finally arrived on store shelves in late December. Fans of large scale figures had a lot to look forward here, but questions remained regarding production quality and precise specifications – the castoff issue was resolved awhile ago, but today we take a more intimate look at what Mai has to offer.

Figure News: Max Factory Shiranui Mai November reissue now in stock, etc.

Word is in from Moeyo that Max Factory’s Shiranui Mai PVC figure from King of Fighters is now in stock once again! If you missed her initial release in August this is your last best chance to pick her up at retail price before she hits the auction block. Play Asia briefly had her in stock but it seems they’ve already sold out… other newly available items can be found below:

Figure News: Daiki Kougyou’s Shiranui Mai (black ver.) PVC from King of Fighters unveiled

First scooped last week as fallout from the Miyazawa Model Exhibition, last night Daiki put up an official listing for their Cobra-Kai (Toushirou) sculpted Shiranui Mai (black ver.) PVC figure from King of Fighters. She’s scheduled to go up for sale via standard distribution channels at specs similar to those of her standard issue counterpart, 1/5 scale (33 cm tall) and 14,700 yen retail. Production is limited to 2,000 pieces, and release is expected in March of next year. I like the look of this version, but at that price I can’t afford two copies of the same kit… ;_; Update: she’s now up for preorder at Amiami, and Daiki has changed their listing from 2,000 units to a 1,000 unit limited run.
