Xenon maid Ryomou PVC preorder open

Amiami’s evening update yesterday included a listing for Ikkitousen’s Ryomou Shimei (maid ver.), a new figure from rookie maker Xenon. This is their first foray into the PVC market, following their unconventional entry into the figure arena last year with a soft vinyl version of Ryomou; as such it’s hard to estimate final production quality, but for a 1/6 scale figure the price seems on par with other similar releases (7,329 yen retail). She comes with detachable handcuffs, and is scheduled for release on October 24th of this year. Figure images below:

Yamato lists VMF Ryomou Shimei action figure

Figure maker Yamato updated their official site yesterday evening with a listing for their upcoming Ryomou Shimei action figure from Ikkitousen. Part of their new VMF (“Variable Motion Figure”) series, she stands 23 cm tall at 1/7 scale, with 19 points of articulation, two pairs of exchangeable wrist/hand parts and a removable skirt. She’s scheduled to retail in August at 8,190 yen (tax included). The sculptor is not currently credited in Yamato’s listing. With her up at their official site preorders should begin shortly! Taki Corp. does nekomimi mode Ryomou Shimei

Figure maker Taki Corporation, king of the Ikkitousen figure conveyor belt, is at it again – this time with a new catgirl maid rendition of Ryomou Shimei. She’s due out in PVC in June, at full Taki price of 9,240 yen, 25 cm tall (scale unspecified), fully castoffable with a choice of two costumes and matching arm and leg configurations (nekomimi maid, and standard blue French maid). Additional gimmicks include an exhcangeable face part, handcuff accessories, and her maid apron removable to reveal a heart-shaped cutout that exposes her breasts. While they still don’t go to the trouble of crediting their sculptors the face on this one looks decent, and with the few design innovations present this is a somewhat tempting kit despite the poor paint job… images below:

Goods Review: Ikkitousen Limited Treasure Box

When we first reported on this item back in November I was a bit skeptical as to how it would turn out; it seemed like a bunch of expensive knick-knacks worth less than the sum of its parts, little more than an attempt to sucker Ikkitousen fans like myself into parting with our hard-earned cash without providing much in return. After having the chance to peruse my copy in person my opinion has not changed, but as both a sucker and an Ikkitousen fan I have to say I’m happy with the result, and would appreciate being pandered to in a similar fashion by other shows in the future (Sekirei, I’m looking at you). Read on for a textbook primer on how to be swindled in style:

Taki Corp. announces Ikkitousen nurse trio

Online hobby shop Digitamin put up preorder listings today for three new PVC offerings from figure maker Taki Corporation, all from Ikkitousen and all scheduled for release in late May at 5,040 yen. First is a Kanu Unchou (nurse ver.), who clocks in at 1/9 scale and comes with a set of extra dark-stockinged legs. Second is a Sonsaku Hakufu (nurse ver.), at 1/8 scale and also with an extra set of leg parts (with different color underwear); finally there’s a Ryomou Shimei (nurse ver.), who is 1/8 scale and the front of her blouse is apparently castoffable. Sculptor information for all three figures is currently unavailable. With preorders up at Digitamin they should appear elsewhere shortly; currently available images can be found below: Update: image gallery updated:

Figure Review: Ryomou Shimei (Cerberus Project pearl black ver.)

When French Doll’s Ryomou was first announced for PVC conversion last year I was psyched to have the chance to own a classic Cerberus Project kit without going to the trouble of painting it myself. I missed the deadline for the Comic Gum mail order edition though, and was thus even happier to hear that she would be reissued in this alternate “pearl black” color scheme. While I would’ve prefered the original colors, the chance to own a kit like this could not be passed up, so I bit the bullet and put in an order. Was she worth the trouble? You make the call:

[ERO] Figure News: Taki Corporation’s Ryomou Shimei PVC from Ikkitousen up for preorder

Amiami and Hobby Stock both represent today with the news that Taki Corporation‘s Ryomou Shimei PVC figure (first scooped here) is now available for preorder! As mentioned in our earlier coverage her maid outfit can be replaced by a bunny girl suit, and while there’s no visual evidence, based on the way her parts come together we can be sure that like Kanu before her she’s a full castoff job. She clocks in at 1/6 scale and is due out in late January at 9,240 yen retail; Amiami has a large gallery online for those contemplating the purchase. (no more)

[ERO] Figure News: Taki Corporation presents Ikkitousen’s Ryomou Shimei in full castoff

GA Graphic brings the scoop this evening that (in)famous rookie figure brand Taki Corporation will be producing a PVC figure of Ikkitousen‘s Ryomou Shimei that, like the rest of their lineup, is looking to be fully castoffable. Unlike Taki’s Kanu Unchou they’re not content to merely strip Ryomou down, providing her with a bunny suit and an alternate pair of legs to change into should she tire of her standard maid outfit. For those interested the figure clocks in at 1/6 scale (15.7 cm tall) and is scheduled to go on sale in January at 9,240 yen; while her production quality doesn’t look much better than what we’ve seen from Taki before I have to confess to being tempted by the prospect of a nekkid Ryomou adorning my shelf… Pilfered GA gallery below:

Goods Review: Ikkitousen’s Kanu Unchou and Ryomou Shimei dakimakura covers from Machi Chara

Entering a bit of new territory for HD this evening we take our first plunge into the world of hug pillow reviews! Tonight we take a look at the recently released Ryomou Shimei and Kanu Unchou offerings from Machi Chara, and I must say they’re quite well done. Being new to the pillow review thing this is a rather experimental post, though hopefully it will be of some use if you’re contemplating a purchase; those turned off by the concept of a body-length pillow with scantily clad 2D girls printed on it will probably not want to read past this point.

Figure News: Goodsmile / Comic Gum collaboration presents Ryomou Shimei PVC (pearl black ver.) from Ikkitousen

First scooped by HD last week, an official page is now online for Goodsmile / Comic Gum’s collaboration Ryomou Shimei (pearl black ver.) PVC figure from Ikkitousen! This is a wide release version of the magazine mail order limited blue version that came out this summer, and which was discussed earlier here. Sculpting duty was handled by French Doll of sculpting circle Cerberus Project, and she’s set for release in January of ’08 at 7,800 yen retail and 1/7 scale (28 cm tall). As remarked in the initial scoop I’d be happier to see her blue version in wide release instead of this black, but the chance to get her in any format is quite welcome. From the limited batch that came out over the summer we’re only waiting on an unlimited release for the Kanu now… With her up officially at Goodsmile preorders for Ryomou should commence shortly around the interweb shops. Figure News: December 2007 Hobby Japan presents Ikkitousen’s Ryomou in unlimited PVC from Comic Gum and Goodsmile

We’ve already covered most of the exciting news from this issue of Hobby Japan thanks to some early leaks (Cattleya in color and various Lineage II and Queen’s Blade items, etc.), but now that the magazine is officially on sale one final item caught my attention: Goodsmile and Comic Gum will be teaming up to bring this previously mail order only Ryomou Shimei PVC to us in full and wide release (though in an alternate color). Sculpted by French Doll of circle Cerberus Project, this black version of the original blue-trimmed kit is slated to go on sale in January of next year at 1/7 scale (28 cm tall) and 7,800 yen retail.
