Figure maker Alter updated their official site today with listings for their December ’08 release schedule, including one brand new figure and a reissue of a popular earlier release. First up is a fantastic PVC sculpt of Gwendolyn from PS2 RPG Odin Sphere. She’s scheduled for release at 8,190 yen retail and 1/8 scale (35 cm tall, base included), with Fukumoto Tokuhou on sculpting duty. Next in their December lineup is a reissue of the popular Saber (maid version) PVC originally released last September (HD review). The reissue will retail for 8,190 yen, with the sculpt as before from Kuramoto Ikuma of Millimeter Modeling. With official listings up at Alter preorders should shortly follow. Images below:

Preorders opened on Monday for Kotobukiya’s Ryuuna from Shining Wind. She’s scheduled for release in December at 6,090 yen retail and 1/8 scale (20 cm tall), with a sculpt credited to “MIC, Inc.”; the sculptor’s actual identity is unknown. In other Kotobukiya news, preorders opened yesterday for November reissues of their Kirijou Mitsuru figure from Persona 3 and their Louise figure from Zero no Tsukaima. Ryuuna images below:

Black hair Chichinoe+ reissue announced

Figure maker Orchid Seed updated their official site today with a listing for a black hair version reissue of their Chichinoe+ figure. Her specifications are identical to the original blond version released last year, with a sculpt from Ishiyama Satoshi, 1/6 scale (actually closer to 1/8 at 21 cm long), 6,800 yen retail, with release planned for August (expected in January or February of next year). The design is from the cover of Inoue Takuya’s Chichinoe+ artbook; further details are available at our review of the original release. Images below:

Ayanami, Kanu, Didii figure updates

Three minor bits of figure news today: first is word from Kotobukiya that their plug suit Ayanami Rei will be reissued in September at 7,140 yen, 1/6 scale (20 cm tall), and with a sculpt from Shirahige Tsukuru. Preorders for the reissue should be open soon.

Next, online shop Ganbo Store has announced that preorders for a limited color version of Happinet’s armored Kanu Unchou will open officially at noon on May 22nd. We can infer from this that regular edition preorders will open around that same time as well, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for those in the next week or two.

Finally, Hobby Japan is reporting that their magazine-limited Jingai Makyou Didii will be shipping on May 21st. Those who ordered via Play-Asia or another proxy service can expect their deliveries to ship around that time. (no more)
