Online shop Getchu updated this evening with preorder listings for two new hug pillowcases from goods maker Matching World / Machi Chara: Asougi Rin from Mnemosyne, and Yatsuhiro Nanaka from Myself; Yourself. Both pillowcases are double-sided and feature original character illustrations, are 150 x 50 cm in size and printed on “smooth knit” cotton/spandex blend fabric, with zipper fasteners attached. They both retail at 10,500 yen (case only) and are scheduled for release on June 27th. Images below:

New hug pillows from Machi Chara

Character goods maker Machi Chara updated their official site yesterday with preorder listings for three new dakimakura pillowcases from two anime franchises: Fel from Prism Ark, and Akabane Kureha and Himuro Akari from Night Wizard. All three items are scheduled for release on May 30th at 10,500 yen (case only), with standard dimensions of 150 cm x 50 cm. Because Machi Chara distributes their items wholesale, listings for all three should begin to appear shortly at other online retail outlets including Hobby Search. Pillow images below:

Goods News: School Days’ Kotonoha and Sekai, Prism Ark’s Sister Hell dakimakura coming from Machi Chara

Character goods maker Machi Chara updated their official site last night with the news of three new hug pillows coming in their production lineup: first are the ever-popular Sekai and Kotonoha-sama from School Days, both of whom will go on sale January 31st with double-sided original illustrations, 150 x 50 cm and a retail price of 10,500 yen (pillowcase only). Prism Ark‘s Sister Hell dakimakura has similar specifications, with release scheduled for February 29th (oh hay, next year is a leap year isn’t it). Like all other Machi Chara pillows these three should be available for preorder internationally at Hobby Search, and I’m guessing J-List may stock them as well. Pillow images below:

Goods News: Sky Girls dakimakura coming from Machi Chara

Via the Dakimakura Integrated Research Institute: Word is in from character goods shop Machi Chara that they are producing a pair of hug pillows based on characters from the Sky Girls anime: Sakurano Otoha and Ichijou Eika. Original designs are from Shimada Fumikane, though the pillow artwork is not (possibly from anime character designer Iwakura Kazunori?). Both pillows are double-sided, zipper equipped and made from standard “smooth knit” polyester, and are scheduled for release on January 31st, 2008 at 150 x 50 cm and 10,500 yen retail (pillowcase only). Machi Chara pillows are stocked by several international retailers including Hobby Search, and these should be up for preorder soon; pillow images below:

Goods Review: Ikkitousen’s Kanu Unchou and Ryomou Shimei dakimakura covers from Machi Chara

Entering a bit of new territory for HD this evening we take our first plunge into the world of hug pillow reviews! Tonight we take a look at the recently released Ryomou Shimei and Kanu Unchou offerings from Machi Chara, and I must say they’re quite well done. Being new to the pillow review thing this is a rather experimental post, though hopefully it will be of some use if you’re contemplating a purchase; those turned off by the concept of a body-length pillow with scantily clad 2D girls printed on it will probably not want to read past this point.
