Minamoto Chizuru oppai mousepad unveiled

Hobby Stock reported last night that they’re producing an oppai mousepad (contoured bust mousepad) featuring Minamoto Chizuru, heroine of the ecchi romantic comedy anime Kanokon. It’s scheduled to retail in October at 3,675 yen and 22 x 25 cm in size, and is limited to release from Hobby Stock, Amazon.co.jp, and Toranoana. No international hobby shops are listed carrying it at present, so a proxy service may be necessary to buy. Mousepad image below:

Taki’s Minamoto Chizuru preorder open

Preorders are now open for a new Minamoto Chizuru PVC figure from Kanokon and Taki Corporation. She’s scheduled for release in November at 1/8 scale (height unspecified) and 5,229 yen, with the sculptor currently uncredited. The figure has been confirmed as a full castoff, though uncensored images are not yet available; the sole image from the official listing can be found below:

Cospa does Tifania dakimakura, Kanokon towels

Following the announcement last week of a similar item from Chara Hai, preorders went online yesterday for a Tifania hug pillow from Cospa and Zero no Tsukaima 3. Like other pillowcases in Cospa’s lineup this one retails at 9,450 yen and 150 x 50 cm in size, double-sided with original illustrations on both sides. Release is expected in late August.

Listings also went up for reissues of a few other Zero no Tsukaima items from Cospa, as well as a new lineup of Kanokon goods including a Chizuru towel (bikini ver.), Nozomu towel (white shirt/bloomers ver.), and Chizuru cushion cover. All three are due out in late July. Images below:

Kanokon pulled from free online broadcast

Moon Phase is reporting tonight that following episode seven, TV anime Kanokon will cease free distribution via online broadcasters GyaO and BIGLOBE. The reason given for the move is “ethical regulations”, which appear to have kicked in following the repeated depiction of racy visuals such as bare breasts, implied handjobs, flashes of nipple exposure, and etc. Apparently a particularly memorable scene occurs in episode eight that the free broadcasters weren’t willing to test against government regulation (Edit: the objectionable content was from “episode 7 and beyond” – not ep. 8 specifically), so from now on online viewing options will be restricted to paid only. Note that this currently does not affect any of the show’s terrestrial broadcast networks; we’ll keep an eye out for any further developments on this story or related censorship issues that may arise. Tamaki pillow, Chizuru bedsheet preorders open

Word is in this evening on two goods items of interest: first, the Kawazoe Tamaki pillowcase from Bamboo Blade that we scooped back on May 3rd is now available for preorder! It’s due out from Brain Police on July 20th at 150 cm x 55 cm in dimensions and features two original illustrations (kendo uniform and school swimsuit) created for the cover. Retail price is 9,240 yen.

Second, a newly announced item from the Kanokon franchise is this Chizuru bed sheet coming from Chara-Ani. It’s made of polyester suede and is sized 140×210 cm, is single-sided featuring an illustration of Chizuru topless (and mostly bottomless) bent over a desk, and is scheduled to retail in July at 8,400 yen retail. Bamboo Blade Tamaki, Kanokon Chizuru hug pillows

Via the Dakimakura Integrated Research Center: Listings went online yesterday for a pair of dakimakura hug pillowcases from two recently popular anime franchises. First is the Brain Police announcement of a Kawazoe Tamaki pillowcase from Bamboo Blade. The case is 150 cm x 55 cm in dimensions and features two original illustrations (kendo uniform and school swimsuit) created for the cover. It’s expected to retail in mid-July at 9,240 yen (case only), with preorders opening in early May. The second dakimakura announcement is of Kanokon‘s Minamoto Chizuru, with a case coming from Chara High. It’s expected for release on June 25th at 10,500 yen (case only; preorder by June 5th for 1,000 yen off) and is available for preorder now. Pillowcase dimensions are 150 x 50 cm, featuring two original illustrations of Chizuru in various states of undress. Neither item is expected to appear via standard international retail channels, so it seems that proxy buying may be the only option for those outside Japan. Pillow images below:

Magazine limited Kanu, Kanokon figure series unveiled

Official site updates for Comic Gum and Comic Alive today provide us with a couple of rare Sunday figure scoops: first is news that the UArt Bladeworx Mogudan Kanu Unchou we’ve been following for the past month or so will be coming in a limited clear pink version exclusively via mail order from Comic Gum. Details such as price and release date don’t appear in this online listing, but they can be assumed to be comparable to her unlimited counterpart.

In other news, Comic Alive has announced a Kanokon heroine figure project that will be rolled out with preorders opening one per issue over the next four months. The first one will be a 1/10 scale version of Chizuru, and is available for preorder in the magazine’s current issue. This is similar to the promotion they ran last year for Zero no Tsukaima, which produced the only Henrietta and Kirche figures I’m aware of to date; here’s hoping this announcement doesn’t similarly doom Kanokon’s cast to figure obscurity.
