[ERO] Figure News: Griffon’s Shokatsuryou Koumei PVC from Ikkitousen up for preorder

Yesterday evening Amiami updated with a preorder listing for an ero-ero Shokatsuryou Koumei PVC figure from Ikkitousen, scheduled for release from Griffon in November at 1/7 scale and 8,190 yen retail. According to Amiami’s [ERO] sample images her top is castoffable, though there’s not much beneath; the kit looks decent except for the face sculpt, which is why I neglected to mention her listing until now. In related news Amiami updated their listing for Griffon’s upcoming Ryuubi Gentoku PVC with color images as well, presenting a rather underwhelming sight for 8,925 yen retail… If we see her in the bargain bin come October I hope that teaches Griffon to pick their PVC battles more wisely. [ERO] Figure News: preorders begin for Yamato’s Dynamite Keikaku #001 Kanu Unchou PVC from Ikkitousen ::UPDATED::

The astoundingly drop-dead gorgeous Cobra-Kai sculpted ero ero bondage-themed 1/5 scale Kanu Unchou that we’ve been tracking for months is finally up for preorder! Amazon has first dibs this time around, though with their posting it’s guaranteed that other shops will follow very shortly. She’s finally got a retail price announced at 13,440 yen, and a tentative release date of December 26th… I don’t know about you, but I’ll be watching my nearest online retailer like a hawk until she appears. Update: Moeyo! Akibajin Blog has a sample review of her online today, and she’s looking fantastic. More enticement for those still on the preorder fence… (no more)

[ERO] Figure Review: Yamato’s Story Image Figure EX Ryofu Housen PVC from Ikkitousen

I missed the release of this Ryofu figure in the transitory period between jobs and moving house last winter, and it was much to my chagrin that I discovered her after she’d seemingly vanished from store shelves. A few months ago Amiami must have dug up a couple of copies from a musty corner of their warehouse because she was listed for a short time once again, and I eagerly availed myself of the opportunity to procure her. Word is in from Yamato that she’ll be reissued in October, so if you missed her in the first round she’ll be widely available again soon! While not produced to the absolute best spec possible, this is one of those figures with a certain special something

Via the Dakimakura Integrated Research Institute: character goods shop Machi Chara put preorder listings up yesterday for a pair of ero-ero hug pillows featuring two heroines from Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny: Kanu Unchou and Ryomou Shimei. They’re both double-sided, 140 cm x 60 cm and scheduled to retail on October 26th at 10,500 each (pillowcase only). For those looking to purchase internationally, Hobby Search carries Machi Chara goods and should have listings up shortly. :3 Pictures below:

Figure Review: UART / Wani Books’ Kanu Unchou (white gosurori ver.) PVC from Ikkitousen

While I might say that I like Ikkitousen as a solid cheesecake franchise, I would not be overstating my affection for Kanu Unchou as more akin to love – not quite obsession, but more than enough aesthetic appreciation of her general hotness to go around. Therefore it was with considerable glee that I preordered this item, confident that her appearance on a Goodsmile page would assure at least a basic standard of quality, and figuring that the eminently reasonable price point was a bargain regardless. In the end, how Kanulicious is this Kanu? Very.

Figure News: misc. tidbits from Hobby Japan October ’07

Better late than never, here are a few highlights from the August 25th release of Hobby Japan‘s October 2007 issue: WAP‘s Rumble Fish Garnet, the one I ranted about back in our coverage of Wonder Festival 2005 Winter, is coming to PVC! 5,040 yen, this winter, from Movic. In other news: a pair of Witchblade figures from Toranoana, a crazy detailed Saber Alter from Solid Theater, a Figma Kanu Unchou from Max Factory, and Kohaku / Touno Akiha from Sol International and Megahouse. [ERO] Figure News: Yamato launches new figure line with Cobra-Kai’s Kanu

Maker Yamato today launched a new line of high quality figures dubbed Project Dynamite, with the long awaited Cobra-Kai sculpted 1/5 scale [ERO] Kanu Unchou prisoner ver. PVC from Ikkitousen as its flagship release. While it’s nice to see official online recognition from Yamato that they plan to release the kit, frustratingly there are still no details regarding its price or projected release date. The pre-preorder suspense continues… (no more)

[ERO] Figure News: Griffon presents Ikkitousen’s Kanu, Hakufu, Ryofu, Gentoku, and Queen’s Blade Nanael completed figures, now in preorder

Griffon announced a veritable blitz of releases over the weekend, with preorders going up for Yamamoto Masahiro sculpted October release China Dress Kanu Unchou and [ERO] Ryofu Housen PVCs, a Sugiyama Satoshi sculpted October release Ryuubi Gentoku PVC, a late September release Akiyama Akio sculpted [ERO] nekkid Sonsaku Hakufu cold cast, and the extravagant Hiroman sculpted Queen’s Blade Nanael PVC / resin / cold cast hybrid due out in October. I’d pick up the Hakufu if she were in PVC, but as is the Kanu is the only one I’m mildly interested in (and maybe the Ryofu if they fix her face). Announce these things earlier and you might sell more, Griffon! (no more)

Figure News: Orchid Seed’s Fiine, Ikaru Satsuki, Ten’i PVCs up for preorder

Orchid Seed pulls to the head of the pack today as the first maker to bring a substantial portion of their Wonder Festival announced PVC lineup up for preorder (thus far on their official site only, other locations expected to have their listings up within the next day or two). Listings now online are the earlier scooped PVC version of their [ERO] Comic Unreal cover girl Fiine (Feane) kit, due out in December; [ERO] Seinarukana‘s Ikaru Satsuki, due out in November, and Ikkitousen‘s Ten’i, out in December as well. This winter is becoming crowded already… (no more)

Event Report: Comic Market 72, day 1

A quick rundown of the first day of Comic Market 72, from one man’s perspective (Shipon will be along later with a bunch of much nicer pictures, including cosplay, so be sure to stop back for that~). Day one verdict: fucking hot, but fun in hindsight.

Wonder Festival 2007 Summer: Orchid Seed, Yamato, Kotobukiya lineups

We take a look at the lineup of newly and recently announced items from Yamato, Orchid Seed, and Kotobukiya in this segment of our Wonder Festival coverage. Yamato and Orchid both have some [ERO] offerings in evidence, so browsing discretion is advised. :3

Wonder Festival 2007 Summer: Alter / Megahouse lineup

Alter and Megahouse both represented with some delicious items at Wonder Festival, offerings made all the more intriguing due to what seems to be a robust partnership emerging between the two companies spanning several projects over the coming months. Are they positioning themselves to rival the Goodsmile / Max Factory coalition (which Alter left behind only recently)? We’ll be watching… for now, the scoops:

[ERO] Figure News: cast-off checkup

In the prurient interests of comprehensive figure coverage, some updates on a few of the items we’ve been following here recently: Akiba Blog scoops the castoffability of Megahouse’s soon to be released Queen’s Blade Tomoe figure, albeit the limited color edition. Updated Amiami listings also bring good news, in the form of new shots of Taki Corporation’s ero-ero Kanu Unchou Ikkitousen kit and Movic’s recently announced Sekirei Tsukiumi and Matsu; relevant images reproduced below:

[ERO] Figure News: Hobby Channel teases with visions of Yamato’s exquisite Cobra-Kai Kanu

Yamato has been trotting this ero-ero 1/5 scale Cobra-Kai sculpted Kanu Unchou (Ikkitousen) kit out at conventions for over half a year now, so you’d think her appearance on Hobby Channel would bring some indication as to a price or sales date along with it – alas we are left in limbo, aside from the consolation that this is the most official presence she’s had online to date. Here’s hoping for a swift transition to preorder! Picture below:

[ERO] Figure Review: Griffon’s Sonsaku Hakufu (sportswear ver.) PVC from Ikkitousen

Among the three most popular Ikkitousen heroines (Kanu, Ryomou, and Hakufu, with Ryofu as an honorary fourth) Hakufu is probably my least favorite from a design perspective. That said, listening to Ikkitousen web radio for the past few months has made me a diehard fan of Asano Masumi, her voice actress. This has nothing to do with the figure in question, I just felt like a little random Masumin respect was necessary… at any rate, this offering from Griffon has dispelled much of my distaste for Hakufu’s design and is probably the best figure of her that I’ve ever seen. Read on for why:

Figure Review: Orchid Seed’s Amaloli Ryomou Shimei PVC from Ikkitousen

It’s hard to articulate what drew me to this version of Orchid’s Ryomou over the original gosurori version; I typically don’t go for alternate colors, so in this case part of the appeal may have been the simple unavailability of the earlier kit. Regardless, I’d say this repaint is at least on par with the original (though I doubt Ryomou would be caught dead in pink if she had a choice in the matter). Wondering what’s under those frills? Read on!

[ERO] Figure News: Taki Corporation’s battle-damaged school uniform Kanu Unchou from Ikkitousen up for preorder

About a month ago we reported that Taki Corporation would be coming out with an astoundingly sexy though rather expensive Kanu Unchou PVC from Ikkitousen. It is with considerable zeal that we now report her availability for preorder at Amiami, though I’m not seeing her available from international distributors yet. She’s due out in August at a robust 25 cm tall (1/7 scale) and is fully castoffable, not that it matters much given the pose… a no-brainer for the Kanu fans if she were a bit less expensive (9,240 yen retail), still a very attractive offering regardless.
