Gift’s Saber, Saber Lion Nendoroid, Shunya’s Nasuka preorders open

A trio of Goodsmile-distributed figures from disparate makers were “unsealed” for preorder last night at midnight, and listings have since gone up at several shops around the internet. The first is the long-awaited Fate/stay night Saber from rookie Solid Theater splinter brand Gift. Sculpted with baroque intricacy by Toda Satoshi of Yume no Kagutsuchino Koukoku, the first lot release of the figure also comes with a limited edition exchangeable face part sculpted by Kuramoto Ikuma of Millimeter Modeling. The figure is scheduled for release in December at 1/8 scale (18 cm tall) and 7,800 yen retail.

The second newly available figure is this Saber Lion Nendoroid, from the Capcom PSP game Fate/tiger colosseum (sic). The sculpt is from Akemichi, and the figure is scheduled to retail in December at typical Nendoroid spec (10 cm tall, three exchangeable face parts and a variety of foods/weapons to feed the hungry Saber). Retail price is 3,000 yen.

Last but not least, preorders are now open for Lilics’ / Art Storm’s Yamashita Shunya Character Series Vol. 2, Nasuka. She’s also scheduled for December release, clocking in at 1/6 scale and 24 cm tall with a sculpt from PVC newcomer (?) Yamazaki Shigeru. Like Kanaru before her the series continues in a decidedly posterior-centric vein, and also like Kanaru she’s scheduled to retail at 7,800 yen.

Goodsmile presents Unity Yuuno

The official site of figure maker Goodsmile was updated today with a product entry for Unity Yuuno, the heroine of Unisonshift’s June ’08 Unity Marriage eroge. She clocks in at 1/8 scale (19 cm tall) and 6,800 yen, with release scheduled for December. The sculpt is from Tokunaga Hironori, and the figure is confirmed as an upper castoff. Images reproduced from the official site are available below:

Ikkitousen trading figures preorder open

A page went up at Goodsmile’s official site yesterday evening for the wide release, alternate color version of the Shiragami Takayuki (Yukishiro) sculpted Ikkitousen trading figure set that we first scooped back in May. The set is scheduled for release in September from Wani Books and will ship in boxes of eight for 6,400 yen (or 800 yen per unit). There are a total of six unique figures in the set (Chouun Shiryuu, Kanu Unchou, Sonsaku Hakufu, Ryomou Shimei, Ryuubi Gentoku, and Kakouen Myousai) with two color versions (regular and limited) of each figure; colors on the limited versions have not been revealed. Preorders for the set were up at Getchu last night and should be up elsewhere soon as well. Images below:

Nendoroid Asakura Ryouko & Expansion Parts Set

We got our first look at this set in Hobby Japan last month, and now the Asakura Ryouko & Expansion Parts Nendoroid action figure set from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu is available for preorder! The Ryouko Nendoroid comes with two faces, two arm sets, several hands, a knife, and a school bag. The expansion set includes a ponytail hair part and summer uniform arms for Haruhi, a witch’s hat, cloak, Shamisen, and Starling (Sterling) Inferno for Yuki, and finally bangs, hair, and legs (with white socks) for Mikuru. The set retails in September at 5,000 yen, with a sculpt from Nendoron (Kodama Youhei). Images below:

Shuraki vol. 6 confirmed

HD reader Kent posted a comment to our Shuraki Rize review this evening with a link to an image at Akiba Hobby that confirms what we’d suspected: The next entry in the Shuraki figure multimedia series will be Monica Dread Olivier, the White Raven companion of Nida and Rize. No release date or other information is listed, though it’s noteworthy to see that according to the promotional poster in the Akiba Hobby photo the character designer may have changed (the illustration is from Jun・K/Sumi Keiichi, not Igarashi Aki as per the original). We’ll keep an eye out for further details (and I’ll try to remember what event that photo is from…). (no more)

Figure Review: Shuraki vol. 5 – Rizfis (Rize) Luttiva Mente

The first round of the explosively popular Shuraki multimedia figure series concludes with the appearance of Rize, Italian Shuraki and member of the mysterious White Raven organization. Armed with a massive halberd and clad in a diaphanous blue gown, her design is surely a match for any of her predecessors – but how does she compare in figure form? Read on for the final installment in our Shuraki review series (until the second batch is announced):

Figure Review: Shuraki vol. 4 – Nida (Needa) Schuetlich

Volume four in the wildly popular series of Shuraki multimedia figures is in some respects a return to more familiar territory, as design duty for Nida was entrusted to the ubiquitous Yamashita Shunya. His designs have been adapted in figure form by just about every major PVC manufacturer in the past few years, but as the first Yamashita offering from Goodsmile there was curiosity regarding how the maker would handle the adaptation compared to those with longer track records. As we’ve come to expect with this series the result is very favorable indeed:

Volks Miku preorder reopens, PA lists Goodsmile’s

It seems Volks seriously underestimated the popularity of their PVC Miku, as she sold out within 24 hours of her first preorder listing. In response they have once again opened preorders for a second round of the figure, which is available right now and scheduled to ship in October – though once again preorders are limited to a preset allotment so extreme haste is advised if you’re considering a proxy order. In other Miku figure news, Goodsmile’s 1/8 scale Hatsune Miku PVC is sold out in first lot at many online shops as well, but if you’d like the chance to get her as fast as possible and don’t mind paying a bit of a premium, first lot (September release) preorders just opened at Play-Asia. If you’d rather wait until October, cheaper options are still available. (no more)

Goodsmile’s Miku listed at Amiami, gallery online, preorders open (updated)

Update: It seems a few shops opened the preorder window briefly at midnight last night, so people are taking the April 25th preorder date seriously. We can expect to see her roll out over the full compliment of online retailers throughout the day today.

Update 2: an official product entry for the figure is now up at Goodsmile.

Original Post: We learned earlier today that Goodsmile’s 1/8 scale Hatsune Miku PVC figure would be going up for preorder tomorrow (April 25th), but in a surprise move Amiami put up a listing for her tonight, albeit without the ability to actually place an order. We now have full details on her configuration as well, which along with an official image gallery can be found below:

Hatsune Miku news from Goodsmile

The official blog of figure maker Goodsmile updated today with several new photographs and a couple of pieces of Miku-related news. The first is that preorders for their 1/8 scale Hatsune Miku PVC (the one we first scooped at Wonder Festival) will begin next week! We can expect a crushing avalanche of interest in this item, and while Goodsmile is likely prepared for the high demand this time (based on the 50,000+ preorders they received for Nendoroid Miku), we’ll still be watching closely for announcement of the preorder and bring the news to you as fast as humanly possible. Better to be safe than sorry with these things…

Speaking of Goodsmile’s Miku Nendoroid, the other bit of news is that a second batch of the figure is on its way to official Goodsmile partner shops as I’m typing this. These include several stores that ship internationally, such as HLJ and J-List, so if you missed her when she first came out this could be an unexpectedly good chance to pick her up.

Stay tuned for further news on the 1/8 scale Miku preorder frenzy! (no more)

Goodsmile presents To Love-Ru Lala, Kiminozo Mitsuki

Figure maker Goodsmile updated their official site over the noon hour today with listings for two new PVC figures that we initially reported on back at Wonder Festival. The first is Lala Satalin Deviluke from To Love-Ru, who will be coming in August at 1/8 scale (22 cm tall) with a sculpt from Tokunaga Hironori and a retail price of 5,500 yen. She comes with her wand and an extra hand part as exchangeable options. The second new Goodsmile announcement is Hayase Mitsuki from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, coming in a very nice bikini version in September. She’s also set for release at 1/8 scale (17 cm tall) and 5,500 yen, with a sculpt from Chigusa Ryo (homepage). With these listings up at Goodsmile preorders should follow very shortly. Goodsmile announces Ryougi Shiki PVC

We noted in the aftermath of Wonder Festival 2008 Winter that Goodsmile would be producing a figure of Ryougi Shiki, the enigmatic protagonist of Type-Moon’s Kara no Kyoukai novel and film series. Photography at the event was prohibited, but today that ban was lifted by this official Goodsmile blog post announcing the figure’s production. No information beyond the single photo and the scale (1/8) has yet been revealed, but we’ll be watching for further news in coming days. (no more)

Figure Review: Ryomou Shimei (Cerberus Project pearl black ver.)

When French Doll’s Ryomou was first announced for PVC conversion last year I was psyched to have the chance to own a classic Cerberus Project kit without going to the trouble of painting it myself. I missed the deadline for the Comic Gum mail order edition though, and was thus even happier to hear that she would be reissued in this alternate “pearl black” color scheme. While I would’ve prefered the original colors, the chance to own a kit like this could not be passed up, so I bit the bullet and put in an order. Was she worth the trouble? You make the call:

Lucky Star Petit Nendoroid Season 2 preorder open

We reported last week that they would be up for preorder on the 2nd, but it seems the listing was delayed by a day: Goodsmile’s Lucky Star Petit Nendoroid Season 2 trading figures (from Lucky Star) are now available for general release preorder at online shops around the internet. Amiami’s listing confirms the lineup we had scooped earlier, with a box of 12 retailing at 6,000 yen and release expected in June. Further details and images below:

Figure Review: Goodsmile’s Nendoroid Hatsune Miku

Ever since Goodsmile’s Hatsune Miku Nendoroid was first revealed last November, the explosive popularity of this figure was a foregone conclusion. By simply taking the route of an already established net meme the figure practically advertised itself, and by the time it shipped two days ago had racked up over 50,000 preorders – ten times the number produced for the initial release of Shuraki Vol. 1. Does Miku live up to the hype? Read on to find out!

Goodsmile presents Kimiaru Benisu, Nendoroid Pastel Ink

Goodsmile updated its official site today with listings for a Benisu (Venice) PVC from Kimi ga Aruji de Ore ga Shitsuji de, as well as a Nendoroid Pastel Ink action figure from Moetan. Benisu is due out in July at 1/8 scale (22 cm tall) and 6,500 yen, with a sculpt from Otoyama Houjun (Snow Cat), while Pastel Ink is due out in August at 10 cm tall (non-scale), with a sculpt from Nendoron, and including three face options, two arm options, her “magical stick”, two leg options, and a chair. She is also compatible with the vignette stand that comes with the 1/8 scale Pastel Ink due for release from Goodsmile next month. Images of both Benisu and Nendoroid Pastel Ink below:

Nendoroid Petit Lucky Star Season 2 preorder begins April 2nd

According to an update to Goodsmile’s official Nendoroid site today, preorders will commence on April 2nd for the Lucky Star Season 2 Petit Nendoroid trading figure set. As with the first set, the figures will be available in advance (mid-June) via the Circle K / Sankus convenience store chain, as well as via its online shop Tokimeki Mall, where a preorder page is already online. The figures measure 6.5 cm tall (non-scale) and are available at 500 yen each or in a box of 12 for 6,000 yen; regular retail sale is scheduled to begin in late June. The set is composed of 10 figures plus one secret; the ten include Kuroi Nanako (teacher and white shirt vers.), Kobayakawa Yutaka (winter uniform and cheerleader vers.), Izumi Konata (winter uniform and maid vers.), Iwasaki Minami (winter uniform and gym uniform vers.), and Tamura Hiyori (winter and summer uniform vers.). The silhouette of the secret hints strongly that it will be a petit version of the event-limited Konata Saber cosplay Nendoroid that was released at Wonder Festival. Images below:

Goodsmile solicits Rin/Len Nendoroid designs

We saw the Kagamine Rin Nendoroid prototype at Wonder Festival so we knew she was in the works, but word is in from the official Goodsmile site today that she’ll be accompanied in Nendoroid form by her musical twin Len. Goodsmile has also announced that the figures will be produced in conjunction with PIAPRO, who is currently gathering design suggestions for the “deformed face parts” that will ship as alternatives to their standard faces in the Nendoroid package. With Miku it was pretty clear that her leek incarnation was the superior option, but lacking in such widely known parody Rin and Len are no doubt harder to design for. If you would like to submit your design suggestions, instructions and downloadable templates are available here (Japanese only); more information is available at Goodsmile’s blog and the official Nendoroid site. [ERO] Figure News: Goodsmile’s Chu Chu Astram official page online

Buzz has been circulating through the figure blogs over the past few weeks regarding Goodsmile’s [ERO] Chu Chu Astram PVC figure from Unisonshift’s eroge Chu Chu Idol, and as of this morning her product page is online at Goodsmile’s official site! Featuring more castoff gimmicks than you can shake a stick at, she’s coming in at 1/8 scale (21.5 cm tall) and 6,800 yen retail, with release expected in May and a sculpt from Kaiya Hajime of Acetone. With her up at Goodsmile’s official site we can expect preorder listings soon. It’s likely this will be a very popular item indeed, so ordering ASAP is advised for those looking to secure their own copies. (no more)

Figure News: January 22 news roundup

No rest for the wicked today as figure news picks up from Wonder Festival and other quarters. Volks represents with a Muv Luv trading figure set, Toy’sworks introduces a new Prism Ark Priecia figure, Shueisha’s Solid Selction ponies up a Hiiragi Aika from Mx0, Taki Corporation tackles Sonsaku Hakufu in an [ERO] castoff version, FREEing brings a mecha action figure + bishoujo combo Sonic Diver Reijin from Sky Girls, and the Goodsmile / Max Factory collective debut their Wonder Festival 2008 Winter limited edition offerings.

[ERO] Figure News: C-Works’ Bible Black Shiraki Rika up for preorder, POLO System Wendy from Gun x Sword, etc.

Online shop Infinity Wonderland put up a preorder listing yesterday for [ERO] C-Works’ Shiraki Rika PVC from Shin Bible Black vol. 4 (first scooped back in November). This figure continues in the notorious tradition of Imari and Saeki, with a sculpt from Tainidou Tinykid and skirt and chest castoff configuration; it’s scheduled for release in April at 6,825 yen (size details are not disclosed in the listing, but she’s presumably 1/6 scale like her predecessors). In other news, an entry yesterday evening on the Goodsmile blog shows off the flexible shirt gimmick of Max Factory’s POLO System Wendy from Gun x Sword. This makes her a bit more interesting than originally expected… Finally, preorders were up briefly on Goodsmile’s official online shop yesterday evening for their Dark Elf Female PVC from Lineage II. She sold out within a few hours, but hopefully the release of this new batch onto the market will make her a bit easier to come by second-hand. (no more)

Figure News: Alter’s Kanu (black ver.) preorder open, Kemeko Nendoroid unmasked, Figma TV commercial

A few random figure news items from yesterday, starting with this: the black uniform version of Alter’s Kanu Unchou PVC that we scooped in December is now available for preorder. It’s an exclusive Hobby Japan online shop release, so if you’re looking to score a copy proxying may be the only way to go. Next, the official Goodsmile blog updated with an informal profile of the Kemeko Nendoroid from Kemeko Deluxe that we scooped in the figure fallout from C73. It turns out the freakish chibi Kemeko is actually a “human”-shaped robot in which Em-Em rides; stay tuned for further updates on this and the companion 1/8-scale Em-Em figure from Goodsmile soon. Finally, Max Factory action figure brand Figma aired a commercial last night (viewable here) along with the first episode of ARIA The ORIGINATION that featured their Nagato Yuki in a brief stop-motion animation version of the Haruhi dance. Figure News: limited edition black uniform version of Alter’s Kanu coming from Hobby Channel, etc.

Some bits of figure news coming over the desk from yesterday evening: first is news that Hobby Japan’s online arm Hobby Channel will be offering a 700-piece limited edition run of a black school uniform variant of Alter’s Kanu Unchou PVC from Ikkitousen. She’s set for release in April at specs similar to her regular edition counterpart (1/8 scale, 21.5 cm tall, 7,140 yen) and preorders open at the Hobby Japan online shop on January 7th. See below for more news:

Figure News: Shuraki vol. 5 Rize preorder “unsealed” tonight

The fifth and final volume of the Shuraki multimedia figure series goes up for preorder tonight (December 17th) at midnight! Rizefis Rutetiiva Mente (aka. Rize) was designed by Yano Takumi, voiced by Shintani Ryouko, and sculpted by Kaiya Hajime of circle Acetone. Like vols. 2-4 she will be priced at 6,800 yen retail, with release scheduled for April of next year; with reissues already announced for the first two volumes it’s expected that the rabid preorder frenzy that has plagued her predecessors will abate somewhat for Rize, but the next 24 hours will tell for sure… (no more)

Figure News: official site online for Goodsmile’s Kuonji Shinra PVC from Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de

Vying for the most tongue-twisting eroge title of 2007, Minato Soft’s Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de officially enters the PVC realm today with the incarnation of its heroine Kuonji Shinra coming from Goodsmile. She’s scheduled for release in April of ’08 at 1/8 scale (21.5 cm tall) and 6,500 yen retail; sculpt is from the recently prolific Otsuyama Houjun with production cooperation from Alter. I can’t say I’m too excited about this one and I doubt I’m alone; despite the fact that Kimiaru is headed for TV anime land next year it’s hard to work up much enthusiasm for what looks to be a butler-themed Tsuyokiss knockoff. Probably won’t be following her too closely. Update: she’s now up for preorder at Amiami. (no more)

Figure News: Shuraki vol. 5 Rize preorder date set, Meifeng second round preorders begin

A couple bits of Shuraki news today: first is the word that Shuraki vol. 5 Rize is scheduled to be “unsealed” on December 18th, according to the Shuraki official site. She marks the end of the first set of five multimedia figure installments, and though explosive sales are expected as usual, fan and retailer fatigue along with the expectation of an eventual reissue mean that the rush to buy will probably be less pronounced than for past offerings. We’ll be keeping an eye on the launch when it comes around next week. In other news, today Goodsmile officially acknowledged what we’ve known since last month: Shuraki vol. 2 Meifeng is being reissued next April. In response to this several online stores have been dumping remaining stock of the kit that they’d normally let trickle out (notably Amazon and Amiami), a sign that preorders are just around the corner; Moe Soul takes the lead with preorders officially beginning at six o’clock this evening. (no more)

Figure News: Orchid’s Nao, CM’s’ Potemayo, Petit Nendoroid Lucky Star up for preorder

Amiami’s noon update brought news of a few new preorders of items we’ve discussed recently here: first up is Orchid Seed’s Mabinogi Nao kit that we first noted was in production earlier today; the Miyazawa version is also available, and if Amiami has her I’m guessing Hobby Search will too. Next is the CM’s soft vinyl Potemayo that we scooped last month; it’s retailing at 1/1 scale (25 cm tall) and 8,925 yen, with release scheduled for February. Finally a reminder from yesterday to mention that Goodsmile’s Nendoroid Petit Lucky Star trading figures are now up for preorder as well, with a box of 12 (5 x 2 standard variations + 1 secret + 1 double, presumably) retailing at 6,000 yen and set for February release. I wish they sold the two Akiras separately… (no more)

Figure News: Nendoroid Petit Lucky Star, Yuria Hyaku-shiki “Lightning Figure” up for preorder

A couple more bits of figure news to report over the noon hour today: the “first season” of Lucky Star Nendoroid Petit trading figures is now available for preorder at online shop Tokimeki Mall, and should be up elsewhere soon as well. I wonder what the secret figure is? Also, Amiami’s noon update today included rookie brand First Class‘s maiden release (scooped here), Yuria Hyaku-shiki (advanced prototype love doll heroine of the eponymous manga). The Lucky Star trading figures are due out in February at 500 yen each and 10+1 variations (a 12-unit box goes for 6,000 yen), while Yuria is due out in late January at a cool 7,140 yen (1/7.5 scale, 19 cm tall) with a LED light-up base. Update: Amiami updated their listing with a full [ERO] gallery that reveals Yuria is in fact castoffable right down to her panties. Suddenly a rather more attractive item… (Outdated) Yuria gallery follows:

Figure News: Goodsmile’s Shuraki Needa PVC up for preorder

As of midnight tonight, November 27th, the fourth volume of Goodsmile / Red Entertainment‘s collaborative multimedia figure series Shuraki is now up for preorder! Volume 4 features the Yamashita Shunya-designed Needa as voiced by Chiba Saeko and embodied in a sculpt from Hagii Shunshi of Studio Saru Bunshitsu, and is likely to invoke a similar rush to preorder as her earlier peers Mishiro, Meifeng, and Shall, so haste is advised for those interested in picking her up. Good luck to all combatants as we enter the fray! (no more)

Figure Review: Goodsmile’s Shuraki vol. 2 – Riu (Liu) Meifeng

The multimedia figure series that earlier this year redefined the scope of the figure otaku feeding frenzy is back in its second installment! Shuraki vol. 2 brings the incredibly cute Riu (Liu) Meifeng to the fore, in yet another dynamite combination of character design, sculpting and voice acting talent. How does she compare to the series’ first installment, Akatsuki Mishiro? I’d say incredibly well, but pictures speak louder than words:
