Revoltech Yotsuba Summer DX, bandage Rei preorders

As reported last night, preorders opened today at 1:00 PM for Kaiyodo’s Revoltech action figure series Yotsubato! summer vacation DX set and Fraeulein Ayanami Rei (bandage version). Both are sculpted by Enoki Tomohide (Eyewater), as variants of previous Revoltech releases (the original Yotsuba and Fraeulein Ayanami). They’re both scheduled for release on August 1st, with Yotsuba accompanied by three face parts, seven hand parts and a cicada, a hat, a bag, an ice cream, a bug-catching net, a bug box, a base, and an extra joint. Rei comes wtih the Lance of Longinus, an extra head, three hands, and a base. Yotsuba retails for 2,600 yen at 12 cm tall, while Rei comes in at 2,200 yen and 15 cm tall.

In related news, Kaiyodo’s Yotsubato! Fuuka PVC is also scheduled for reissue on August first, as is their original Fraeulein #1 Ayanami Rei. Images of the new Yotsuba and bandage Rei below:

Revoltech Fraeulein Haruhi to come with Wii game (updated)

A Suzumiya Haruhi franchise Nintendo Wii game was announced to be in the works on the official Haruhi anime site as early as last year, but only a couple of days ago were the details confirmed – it’s a “story+dance sim”, scheduled for release within the year. Amazon already has a page up soliciting email addresses if you want to find out precisely when preorders open, as it seems this will be a hot item – not in the least because the special edition will be accompanied by a Revoltech Fraeulein Haruhi action figure, as reported today by official Revoltech Express blog. Unlike Kaiyodo’s earlier collaboration with Kadokawa in the release of Fate/stay night Realta Nua for the PS2, this Revoltech Haruhi will apparently be not just a bust but a full Fraeulein series figure. We’ll keep an eye out for further news on the project, especially any word of an individual release apart from the game.

Update: Famitsu has posted further details on the Haruhi Wii game, including images of the Fraeulein Revoltech Haruhi figure which are reproduced below:

Fraeulein Revoltech Futami Mami preorder open

Kaiyodo’s Fraeulein Revoltech lineup continues with the preorder availability today of Futami Mami (regular gothic princess ver.) and Futami Mami (Friend Shop limited snow strawberry ver.) action figures from The Idolmaster. Both versions are scheduled for release on June 1st at 2,300 yen each, 15 cm tall (non-scale), with 18 points of articulation and 10 “revolver joints” used. Parts included are a policewoman’s hat, a cowbell, cat paws, “demon feet”, six hand configurations, and a display base. The only difference between the two figures is the color scheme, and both seem to be widely available (the snow strawberry version doesn’t seem particularly limited). Like all of the figures in the Fraeulein lineup, sculpting work is from Enoki Tomohide (Pumpkin King/eyewater). Images of both figure versions below:

December 21st 2007 figure news roundup (updated)

Figure News: Kaiyodo’s Revoltech Fraeulein Pocco (Yamashita Shunya Sweet Dreams cover girl) up for preorder

Yamashita Shunya‘s Kaiyodo Revoltech Fraeulein Sweet Dreams cover girl Pocco action figure is now up for preorder at Play Asia! Japanese sites haven’t officially picked her up yet, but it seems Play Asia is hedging their bets that Kaiyodo will be able to stick to their production schedule of one Fraeulein per month starting on January first with Evangelion’s Rei. February and March will see Fate’s Tousaka Rin and Eva’s Asuka respectively, with Pocca coming in April; Rei retails at an introductory price of 2,000 yen with the other three clocking in at 2,300 each. We first found out about Pocca back at the Revoltech Expo on November 30th, and expect the Fraeulein lineup to continue with a couple of the Idolm@ster girls in spots five and six. See below for further details:

Figure News: Revoltech Expo preview (updated)

GA Graphic got a look inside the Tokyo Anime Center today where tomorrow’s Revoltech Expo will be held, and brings back a few preliminary scoops from the event: a Gurren Lagann Revoltech action figure is planned for May release, there is a Fist of the North Star series in the works, and a Revoltech Fraeulein Idolm@ster series is in production as well, with Amami Haruka due out in May and Futami Ami due out in June. We’ll be keeping an eye out for further bishoujo news from the event as it progresses tomorrow. Update: GA Graphic has posted a continuation of their coverage, showcasing the upcoming Fraeulein Revoltech line including the recently scooped Yamashita Shunya-designed POCCO (fourth in the series, due out on April 1st). Figure News: Claymore, Lineage II, catgirl Tsuruya, Revoltech Rin, and prize figures oh my!

A bunch of figure news rounding out the day today: word is coming in from 2chan’s mokeiura board that Megahouse’s Claymore Clare PVC figure and Yujin’s SRDX Lineage II capsule figures are both now on sale. In addition Bandai has put a Metamo (color changing) catgirl Tsuruya-san up for preorder; she’s set for release in late March at 4,410 yen. Kaiyodo’s Revoltech Fraeulein Rin action figure is up for preorder today as well, with release set for February 1st; finally, GA Graphic brings us a look at the 10th “Prize Fair” that took place on November 2nd, which is presumably a fair where prize figures are shown (hence the name – brilliant!). The items on display come from six different makers and will be released between April and June of next year. Oh, and also:

Figure News: Kaiyodo’s Revoltech Fraeulein Ayanami Rei action figure up for preorder on November 1st

In continuing coverage of Revoltech’s Fraeulein series of bishoujo action figures, the maker’s official blog reported and online figure shop Digitamin confirms that the first item in the series lineup, Ayanami Rei of Evangelion, will be up for preorder on November 1st with release scheduled for January 1st, 2008. In anticipation of the release Digitamin has created a product entry complete with a full image gallery exhibiting Rei in many of the poses made possible by the figure; this initial offering in the lineup goes on sale at 2,000 yen, with subsequent figures (Fate’s Rin and Eva’s Asuka are confirmed) priced at 2,200 yen. While Revoltech figures are regularly reissued to meet demand, those interested getting in on this first batch of Rei are advised to get their preorders in early as she’s likely to be a very hot item. November 1st Update: as of 6:00 PM this evening she is now available for preorder around the internet. (no more)

Figure News: Kaiyodo’s Revoltech Fraeulein action figure line heats up

Kaiyodo’s official Revoltech Express blog has been preaching the gospel of the brand’s new Fraeulein lineup of action figures for the past few days, introducing a prototype sculpt of Fraeulein #2 Tousaka Rin along with several pictures of Fraeulein #1 Ayanami Rei, including some rather wacky offerings today. Official information on the Ayanami release can be found in this entry, which pegs her at a January 1st, 2008 release at 2,000 yen (first lot limited, subsequent editions will be 2,200 yen). She’s 15 cm tall (~1/10 scale), with 18 points of articulation, 10 “revolver joints”, four alternate hands and the Lance of Longinus included. Apparently Kaiyodo is shooting for Fraeulein releases monthly on the first of each month; an ambitious production schedule, but great news for fans of bishoujo action figures. We’ll be keeping an eye out for preorders. (no more)
