Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka Katagiri Yuuhi preorder

First scooped back at Wonder Festival, preorders opened yesterday for a new bishoujo figure from fledgeling brand First Class, Katagiri Yuuhi from Feng’s visual novel Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka. She’s scheduled for release in September at 7,140 yen and 20 cm tall (non-scale), with a castoffable bra part. An alternate color Olive limited edition is also planned. The sculptor is currently uncredited. Figure images below:

Figure Review: First Class’s Yuria Hyaku-Shiki (updated)

As the maiden release from rookie figure brand First Class, the first Yuria 100-shiki figure to be mass produced, and the first figure to ship with this particular LED light-up base gimmick, I opted to make the purchase despite some initially questionable preview images at Amiami and elsewhere. While I was ready for the iffy sculpt and cast quality, I wasn’t expecting some rather more substantial deficiencies in the kit that makes this sadly one of the year’s most disappointing releases thus far. Read on for the unfortunate truth: Update: it turns out the packaging did contain a support intended to prop the kit up after all; I’ve revised the final score slightly as a result, and details can be found at the bottom of the review.

First Class Shining Force EXA Cyrille preorder open

Preorder listings went online today for newcomer figure brand First Class‘s second bishoujo PVC project, Shining Force EXA‘s Cyrille (regular ver.) and Cyrille (olive nekomimi ver.). Both versions are due out in June at 6,090 yen and 1/8 scale (26 cm tall, base included) with a sculpt from Mamecchi; the cat ears on the nekomimi version are removable, and the kits are otherwise identical beyond a slight difference in facial expression, so the production of an obviously more feature-poor standard edition is a bit of a puzzle. In other First Class news, a page is up on their official site for their Genjo Sanzo PVC from Saiyuki. He’s due out in May at 6,090 yen (non-scale, 200 cm tall) with a sculpt from BIRTH, comes with a LED base, and is available in advance preorder from Animate in white and denim versions (full preorder coming soon). Figure News: Nendoroid Petit Lucky Star, Yuria Hyaku-shiki “Lightning Figure” up for preorder

A couple more bits of figure news to report over the noon hour today: the “first season” of Lucky Star Nendoroid Petit trading figures is now available for preorder at online shop Tokimeki Mall, and should be up elsewhere soon as well. I wonder what the secret figure is? Also, Amiami’s noon update today included rookie brand First Class‘s maiden release (scooped here), Yuria Hyaku-shiki (advanced prototype love doll heroine of the eponymous manga). The Lucky Star trading figures are due out in February at 500 yen each and 10+1 variations (a 12-unit box goes for 6,000 yen), while Yuria is due out in late January at a cool 7,140 yen (1/7.5 scale, 19 cm tall) with a LED light-up base. Update: Amiami updated their listing with a full [ERO] gallery that reveals Yuria is in fact castoffable right down to her panties. Suddenly a rather more attractive item… (Outdated) Yuria gallery follows:

Figure News: new brand “First Class” official site online, lineup details scooped

I’m not quite sure how I missed this earlier as apparently the site has been up for some time, but figure maker First Class (official blog) is now open for business. They had a booth at Dream Party, which Moeyo! Akibajin Blog details here: the brand is apparently the brainchild of a fellow who calls himself kyo montana, and its maiden release lineup consists of the aforementioned Yuria Hyaku-shiki in December of this year, and Hitoyume‘s Hata Seika and Kozue Arine in January. Yuria is 1/7.5 scale (what?) while Seika and Arine are 1/8; all three are expected to retail at 6,800 yen. Pictures weren’t officially allowed at the event, but Moeyo recieved special permission; check out his coverage for further details, where the extended lineup (mostly bishoujo game figures) is also detailed.
