Kotobukiya presents Yamashita Shunya’s Naomi

Figure maker Kotobukiya updated their online shop today with a listing for a new Art of Yamashita Shunya pre-painted cold cast bust figure, Naomi. She’s scheduled for release in August at 18.5 cm tall (non-scale) and 10,290 yen retail, with a sculpt from Ogasawara Taketo; the figure is nominally Kotobukiya shop limited but similar items have regularly been made available via international distribution outlets in the past, so we can expect her to appear for preorder elsewhere shortly. Hobby Figures Mugen in color!

The kind folks at Hobby Figures hooked us up with some new high-resolution images of their pre-painted Mugen cold cast figure from Samurai Champloo this morning that we’re happy to be able to present below. They also informed us that while not yet described on the official product page, Mugen will ship with magnets embedded in the arm and leg parts for optimum easy assembly. The kit retails in June at 1/8 scale (14.5 cm tall, 26 cm long) and features a sculpt from Takahashi Tsuyoshi (Ichigo Eiga Ippai Sake). Retail price is 12,800 yen, and the kit is a limited run of 2,000 pieces worldwide. High-resolution images below:

Kurushima announces cold cast Kanu

The ero-ero garage kit of Ikkitousen‘s Kanu Unchou that Kurushima was selling at Wonder Festival will be coming out in pre-painted cold cast form, according to the maker’s official site as well as preorder listings that began coming online earlier this week. The sculpt is from Kurushima veteran Keiko (慶子), and she’s scheduled to retail in early August at 20,790 yen and 1/6 scale (26 cm tall). Gallery below:

Yamashita Shunya Arisugawa Shii, Angela busts from Kotobukiya

I noticed these on Play-Asia last night (Arisugawa Shii, Angela) so the news isn’t completely fresh, but Kotobukiya has posted entries for its “shop limited” Art of Yamashita Shunya cold cast busts Angela and Arisugawa Shii at their Rakuten online shop today. They’re due out in June at 10,290 yen each, non-scale (18 cm tall), and of the two only Shii is credited with a sculptor (Ogasawara Taketo). If you think you’ve seen her before, you’re right; this is Shii’s second appearance in Kotobukiya’s Yamashita lineup (the first was released last May). (no more)

Figure News Roundup: Saber Alter, Shuraki, Win-chan, Manaka cold cast

A few updates on figures we’ve been covering over the past few days: Solid Theater’s Saber Alter is now up at the maker’s official site, up at Goodsmile, and up for preorder. More interesting is the news that she is 1/8 scale, but she was resculpted based on a 1/10 kit (see the lowest picture in that entry). She retails in March at 6,800 yen (ouch) with a sculpt from Toda Satoshi. In Shuraki news, Vol. 2 Riu Meifeng shipped from Goodsmile yesterday and is shipping from wholesalers today. Vol. 4 Needa was also updated today with a first look at the interior of the artbook that accompanies her – very tasty stuff. Finally, the new Win-chan we mentioned earlier today is now up for preorder in both regular and limited edition colors, and New Line has a preorder listing up for a Komaki Manaka cold cast (March release, 1/6 scale, 24 cm tall, 14,490 yen retail) that justice demands see a PVC release at half the price. Justice! (no more)
