Ikkitousen, Lucky Star itasha models announced

The moe car decal boom known as itasha (痛車 = “hurt car”, pun on “Italian car”) has been sweeping Japan for the past few years, and thanks to Aoshima recently began to appear in model form as well (Haruhi and To Heart 2 featured on their first two releases). Aoshima augmented their lineup yesterday with the announcement of a Lucky Star itasha based on the Mazda Roadster 1800RS convertible, which will retail in late June at 3,570 yen retail and 1/24 scale.

A new entry into the itasha model maker’s arena appeared yesterday as well, with Aizu Project’s announcement of a 1/43 scale Mini Car Toyota Hi-Ace (Ikkitousen version). Based on the popular Hi-Ace 200 van from Toyota, it’s scheduled to retail in September at 3,990 yen retail. Unlike Aoshima’s offering which is an unpainted/unassembled plastic model, this Aizu van is a die-cast model and presumably can be displayed out of the box. Images of both are below:

Aoshima’s Kuuchuu Yousai Shinobu-chan preorder (updated)

Online shop Rakuten Be-J posted a listing over the noon hour today for a limited edition version of Aoshima‘s Funny Knights Masterpiece of Kuuchuu Yousai Ninja no Shinobu-chan that we first scooped following the recent Shizuoka Hobby Show. Details and images below: Update: further info from Amiami’s listing below:

Aoshima’s Funny Knights Shinobu-chan details

News from the Shizuoka Hobby Show is still trickling in, and Hobby Stock brings the goods tonight on the newest entry in hobby maker Aoshima‘s “Funny Knights” PVC series. Their Masterpiece of Kuuchuu Yousai Ninja no Shinobu-chan Mashiro no Bouken No. 01 Shinobu-chan (we’ll call her “Shinobu-chan”) is scheduled for release in July at 1/7 scale, 18 cm tall, with a retail price of 7,140 yen. The supposed source of the figure (“Ninja no Shinobu-chan Mashiro no Bouken”) doesn’t actually exist, and Shinobu-chan is an original character invented by Kuuchuu Yousai for figure incarnation here. The only information lacking from her description is the sculptor and castoff potential, but given the July release date we’ll be on the lookout for preorders to appear soon with the complete scoop. December 21st 2007 figure news roundup (updated)

A whole lot of action on the figure front to sum up today, including a continuation of Cerberus Project’s collaboration with Wafuudou Ganguten, a faux trap figure from Toy’sworks that’s almost Bridgetlicious, a bunny Haruhi + guitar prize figure, a review of the Haruhi itasha model first seen back at the Miyazawa Model exhibition, a step-by-step tour through a Nakoruru castoff, a couple of new angles on Alter’s Kanu, and a Keumaya update. Check it out! Update: Keumaya’s new items up at Toranoana, Revoltech Fraeulein Asuka and Play Stationery Rin up for preorder!

[ERO] Figure News: Aoshima’s Funny Knights Masterpiece of Yamashita Shunya No. 2 Petra PVC up for preorder

Amiami’s noon updated today featured the surprise preorder listing of Aoshima‘s Funny Knights Masterpiece of Yamashita Shunya No. 2 Petra PVC figure. As we reported last month she is indeed castoffable, and is scheduled to retail in mid-February of ’08 at 1/7 scale (30 cm tall – staff included) and 7,140 yen. As was the case with Rudy and Cream Coru-nee before her Petra is the work of sculptor Modeler-T, who has a better shot of Petra on his site than the one currently up at Amiami (see below). I’m wavering on this one… probably going to hold off on a preorder until Amiami has their full gallery up.

Figure News: scoops from the 2007 Plastic Model / Radicon Show

The 47th annual Plastic Model / Radicon Show is happening this weekend, and Moeyo! Akibajin Blog was there yesterday to check it out. While mostly devoted to plastic models (mecha and vehicles) and radio controlled devices (hence the name), bishoujo figures made a fair showing as well; the following can be deduced from Moeyo’s initial coverage:
