After countless false starts and years of crushed dreams, we now have confirmation that the second season of Haruhi is in fact quite real, and that a new, never before seen episode has aired tonight.
Will the new series live up to its predecessor? Will it be enough to make up for the interminable, soul-crushing years of desperate waiting?
At the risk of judging prematurely, and having not seen any portion of the episode myself, I feel comfortable answering with a definitive categorical “YES”.
For proof, stop by the instantly epic 2chan thread. We also have confirmation from a man in the field, wah, that the animation is “noticeably better”.

While I found said episode at “the normal sources”, from what I gathered around the Internet (not reading the 2chan thread for now), it’s just that one episode inserted into the first series? I’m not sure at this stage if there will be an entire new series.
Then again, with the multiple artbook releases recently, it could well be that Haruhi is on the ascendant.
Woah, is it already seasons 2? Haruhi season 1 not finisih yet by me.
I’m not a huge fan of the series but I’m half way thinking of getting the Haruhi figure.
It’s not a new season. Just a chronologically-ordered re-broadcast with a few new episodes shuffled in.
I’ll just leave this here, for any ignorant soul who stumbles upon it. An informed guesstimate ( a la 2ch) of Haruhi S2 complete with air date, episode number and title.
