A potential reason for the long production delay on Orchid Seed’s Witchblade Tsuzuki Shiori figure was revealed today in an Akiba Hobby review of her finished PVC sample. According to visual evidence and accompanying text she’ll be shipping with an exchangeable “soft chest part”, presumably similar to Chichinoe+ 2 Young Hip Cover Gal (which was also delayed in a similar fashion). This is potentially both a plus and a minus, as it means her upper body is not cast from a single piece – resulting in seams such as the one visible here. Still, based on this review I’m happy with her presentation overall and can’t wait to see her in person later this month! (no more)

i for one do not mind orchidseed delays. i’m so happy i have her on preorder.
oh shingo, did you get miyamoto rei of HS of the dead?
I was excited when I heard about the soft chest feature on the Chichinoe+ 2 figure, and it was cool to squeeze the goods the first time, but afterwards the gimmick quickly wears off. Truthfully, I’d rather her chest not be removable so that seam isn’t so eye catching.

I did pick up Miyamoto Rei, yeah. Haven’t had the chance to shoot her for the review yet though, hopefully soon.
Damn. I guess I will cancel this pre-order. I for one, thinks the soft chest is a stupid gimmick. If they can do it without the ugly seams a la Chibusa, then fine, go ahead.
But with such ugly seams (see Chichinoe+ 2 Young Hip Cover Gal), I rather they don’t do it at all and make a nice seamless figure like Megahouse’s stuff.
Looks like the seams are ugly too to pose this figure cast-offed. 8/
This is really disappointing. I, too, prefer her without the exchangeable breasts. I thought this figure looked great in the prototype pictures. It’s too bad Orchid Seed decided to go down this route. The seam left by her exchangeable breasts is seemingly just too noticeable to warrant a purchase from me now. I had this figure preordered but I think I’ll be cancelling it. Are you getting this figure, Shingo? If so, are you planning to do a review of it? I might change my mind if the actual seam doesn’t look as bad as it does on the Akiba Hobby review.

Yeah, I’m planning to get this (I put in my preorder a long time ago, and Japanese retailers are pretty draconian about not letting you cancel). I’ll be doing a review as soon as possible… I remain optimistic despite the visible seams, though I can understand why that would be a deal breaker for a lot of people. I hope the final product isn’t too bad.
Hopefully Orchid Seed has learned from the mistakes in the seams with the Chichinoe gal and they won’t be so noticable this time around. I for one am really looking forward to it and can’t wait for my preorder to arrive.
do you know how big she is. you could just get skin tone paint that matchs her skin and cover over the seams then give it 2 or 3 days to dry thin put super glue over painted parts. as long as her breasts are still huge there is know disappointing me.
