Figure maker Kotobukiya updated this afternoon with a vendor listing for a new Ayanami Rei (gothic lolita “noir” version) PVC figure from Neon Genesis Evangelion. She’s set for release in October at 7,140 yen and 1/7 scale (height unspecified), with a sculpt from Nishimura Naoki (Pilot). She’s designed to match Kotobukiya’s earlier released gothic lolita Asuka, and her hat is removable. Images below:

We’ll be watching for preorders to appear shortly.

Awesome. I love the Asuka, and I’m a fan of Nishimura’s work in general, and this companion piece looks great and is an awesome idea to do, even this long after the Asuka hit PVC. I really hope the Rei’s base really will ‘connect’ to create the look as pictured in the ‘flyer’, that would be excellent icing on the cake.
Finally! I was wondering when Kotobukiya would release Gothloli Rei to pair up with Gothloli Asuka! Now to get the latter from the sales bin… XD
Well now I feel like I should’ve gotten goth loli Asuka! It would’ve been a cute diorama type thing and I’m always a sucker for those. Ugh must find Asuka now!
Mmmmmm, hats!

Mmm, in my last message (that is still “awaiting moderation”) I made a mistake writing my email address… I hope there’s no problem and that message gets to be posted here, if not here’s a copy of its contents:

Just preordered at Hobby Search, simply couldn’t resist! I have Asuka Goth Loli PVC from Kotobukiya so this is her perferct match. Got Asuka from my last travel to Japan in August 2007 (it actually had a discount on it in an Akiba shop I can’t remember the name for).
Mmmmmm, goth loli!

P.S.: I did put gamil instead of gmail, what a mistake… ”¬_¬
Okay, I’ve tried a couple times to post a comment with a link to a Rakuten page that features the cool ‘Blanc Ver.’ (which I found on Moeyo). Maybe this post without a link will take.

Sorry about that, it looks like your earlier comments got swallowed up by the spam filter. I guess Akismet doesn’t like Rakuten links for some reason… :(
I mentioned the alternate white version in yesterday’s mainichi post, actually; my bad for not updating here as well.

I guess I should have looked around and I’d have seen the mainichi post, but I generally stick to the Hobby section so as not to find too many cool things/items that living in America just aren’t findable without way too much money and effort.
