A preorder listing went up at Chara-Ani yesterday for a Musubi and Tsukiumi dakimakura from the anime version of Sekirei. Images of the product weren’t initially available, but today the listing was updated and we now have a look at what’s being offered. The pillow features images of Musubi and Tsukiumi that appear here for the first time, but also on other items as well (oppai mousepads and telephone cards); pillow dimensions are unknown, but appear to be different from standard dakimakura size. Preorders are open until June 14th for the pillowcase, which retails on July 17th at 7,140 yen. Images below:

Chara-Ani does not ship internationally and there’s no news that this will be available anywhere else, so buying via proxy may be required. I hope they’ll post some item dimensions soon…

Hmm… I’m liking the Tsukiumi one better. Even if her blonde hair reminds me of Chizuru’s kitsune form…
I’m not sure if it’s evident in the post, but I should clarify that these are apparently two sides of a single pillow.
I’m liking the overall concept, though I wish they could’ve gotten a more skilled artist on lead visuals for the show… there are some anatomy proportion issues here (and in other key visual art that has appeared earlier) that are a bit unsettling.
Sekirei is by the same production company as Nanoha, isn’t it? The quality in the few episodes of StrikerS I watched was very poor.
I’m interested in this show, but Kanokon made me realize that I have a limit for fanservice-only shows (something I thought to be unlikely). I can only hope the characters in Sekirei are actually likeable, which, I think, is what makes me enjoy fanservice.
Yeah, neither appeal to me. The first thought I had was “the art sucks”, and I think it really does stem from the bad proportions of the anatomy. I spend a lot of time to get the proportions of my characters right, but I guess the guy doing these was sped up too quick by the main guys at the production company? Or not..

Good call, it seems Seven Arcs is responsible for both. I only watched the first episode of StrikerS and it didn’t seem too bad (though of course that’s in no way indicative of overall series quality). I’ve seen about half of Zero no Tsukaima 2 though, and that seemed pretty consistent… I want to believe they won’t trash Sekirei, the manga is so very good it would be a damn shame to do it wrong.
