We got our first look at this set in Hobby Japan last month, and now the Asakura Ryouko & Expansion Parts Nendoroid action figure set from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu is available for preorder! The Ryouko Nendoroid comes with two faces, two arm sets, several hands, a knife, and a school bag. The expansion set includes a ponytail hair part and summer uniform arms for Haruhi, a witch’s hat, cloak, Shamisen, and Starling (Sterling) Inferno for Yuki, and finally bangs, hair, and legs (with white socks) for Mikuru. The set retails in September at 5,000 yen, with a sculpt from Nendoron (Kodama Youhei). Images below:

Note that the original Haruhi, Mikuru, and Yuki Nendoroids are not included – just the expansion parts.

Why do I look at this and start thinking of Pinky Street?
GSC sure knows how to pack all the goodies together. Shamisen is a great addition. And ponytail Haruhi! Ugh, this is just too tempting.
These expansion parts looks nice. Gives the originals more variety to play around with.
Thats my favourite haruhi hairstyle. ^^

A shameless effort to get me to buy the ones I’ve missed?
I would buy more if it weren’t for the flimsy bases. They’re totally insufficient for such top heavy figures. The plastic clip for my Yuki figure has already broken from the weight of the figure alone. I hadn’t even touched it since I put it up on the shelf. They should consider Figma style bases.

Thanks for the QC comment. I was thinking heavily on getting these Haruhi nendoroids. It’s extremely tempting, especially with the xtra parts, but I’m still (barely) holding out on clicking the pre-order button.

The stands that come with the newer Nendoroids are much better. The “claw” is now more of a cradle that the figure rests on. Not only is the cradle design sturdier, it looks much better because the Nendoroid sitting on top of it hides it from view.
