Formerly credited as a producer subcontracted to figure projects by other brands (notably Megahouse), today figure maker Eye Up announced the independent formation of its own eponymous figure brand with the unveiling of two items we’ve seen before in resin: Black Sabbath’s Kamina and Mesuka’s Yoko from Gainax giant robot anime Gurren Lagann. Kamina is scheduled for release in late August at 8,190 yen retail, 1/8 scale (26 cm tall), and comes with detachable cape and shades. Yoko is likewise 1/8 scale and 8,190 yen retail, 21 cm tall with release coming in September. Both are finished PVC models. Images below:
More details on Eye Up’s independent emergence into the PVC arena as we can gather them!

YES!!! When I first saw the resit kits sold in this year’s Wonderfest, I didn’t expect them to really be mass produced. I hope the Gakuen Kino kit gets released too.
A bit of a steep price, but I NEED that Kamina. NEED!
SWEET LORD YES!! Not too sure about Yoko because I think there might be a lot more good Yoko figures coming out but I will DEFINITELY get Kamina! Although that price for a 1/8 PVC is baffling but I love that figure too much to say no.

hoo, great kamina figurine!
oh yes !!! More Drill !!
Holy crap! Time to start saving my pennies on these two. 8,120? Maaaaaaaaaan…..
YESYESYESYESYES ultimate Kamina PVC get! Best news ever. Not sure if I’ll get Yoko since I already have the Konami one, but Kamina is a definite.
cha-ching, but cool.
Finally… an awesome Kamina figure…. I so want!
Holy shit I must have Kamina to balance out the moe in my cabinet with pure GAR.
A little expensive, yes, but I definitely need that Kamina. So awesome.
As for Yoko, ehh, I’ll pass. There are others I’d rather get, and I already have the Konami one…
[...] I’m only worried since it’s a new figure company. While they are associated with Megahouse we have no idea of the overall;l quality of their work. But I’m going to be getting both anyways… Both will retail for 8,190 yen and both are 1/8th scale. Yoko being released in September and Kamina in August. More information at Heisei Democracy [...]
Hell yeah for both Kamina AND Yoko. Both looks great!
Needs moar Nia
Both figures look very good, but I’ll prefer Kotobukiya’s Yoko (the one in the same pose and that was released as a kit)
Is there any chance to see that Kotobukiya model as a PVC,like the recent “Aile”?
>>wildarmsheero
Isn’t this enough?
Oh, you mean figures. Well, they’re coming. In resin. from Amie Gran.
;_;

I’d say there are even odds that we’ll see a given resin from Kotobukiya make it to PVC, if you’re willing to wait long enough. It might be another year or so at their typical pace, though hopefully they’ll hurry things along…
We definitely need more ‘bishonen’ figures to balance things out. As it is, the only male pvc figures I have is that 1-piece Laffy. Hmm…
is it the same “Eye Up” who did some figures for Wave? it’s just written “eye up” but no particular sculptor (like paladin girl, haruhi & yuki)
>>Yhamm
As far as I know it’s the same company, but their website isn’t very forthcoming on other projects they’ve worked on. I’ll see if I can track down solid evidence somewhere.
Very promising company.
Hopefully they’ll do more of this kind of thing rather than simply reproduce what other companies are putting out. I like diversity. :)
!!!!!!Must have Kamina!!!!!! @.@, hopefully the final product will justify the price, but must get kamina, it will be awasomen to have more cool shonens pvc I will get the nia photobook too, since i got the yoko one already lol i have become to much of a fan of rhis serie damn you gainax you are milking out my money still.
>>lucky_huh?
You’ll get used to it. Gainax has been milking my money since 1988 when I first got started in this Japanese manga/anime/figure hobby. 8)
