Otherwise only available via mail order from Hobby Japan magazine, Alpha Omega’s Excellent Model CORE Queen’s Blade Shizuka (limited edition) is now in stock at Play-Asia. This is likely one of the few opportunities to obtain the figure without paying obscene markups at auction, so those interested who weren’t able to place preorders earlier have another chance now. She’s likely only available in very limited quantity, so quick action is advised if you don’t want to miss out.
Our review of the regular edition Shizuka can be found here. (no more)
Ordered this version from Play-Asia long ago, wondered when it was actually gunna come in stock.
I got quite worried and ordered the normal version from HLJ also. Ah well two versions of a great looking figure is no bad thing :)
Either she’s not popular, or Megahouse substantially increased the quantity manufactured, or the we’re in a global recession.
The normal edition’s actually still available in stock in several webshops. A rare event since all the previous QB figures from MHcore are sold out even in the pre-order stages.
I would have love to buy this one (and support HD at the same time), but since I’ve already missed out on the previous QB limited editions (event only/magazine mail-in or otherwise) (except for limited Red Cattleya which was released in a normal edition way), and the fact that my other pre-orders yet to come, I’ve got be conservative. Sorry Shingo.
Another possible scenario is that Play-Asia simply ordered more than they had preorders for and is now offering the service of providing limited edition items to fans otherwise unable to get them.
That’s my best guess as to why they’re able to offer her like this now…
That’s good shingo. On the plus side, since these hard to find and ebayed limited edition figures are now readily available, we can get them at normal retail prices rather than crazy evilbay prices.
I might still get the limited one from play-asia, if my finances are ok by June. 8)
