Updates at the official Piapro and Volks blogs confirm the news that Vocaloid virtual idol series singing siblings Kagamine Rin and Len are scheduled for figure production. Details are not yet available, but it seems logical to assume that they’ll be made available in PVC on the same terms as Volks’s Miku (Volks shop limited release). We’ll keep an eye out for price, sculptor, and further release information. In other news from Volks, their PVC Choukou Sennin Haruka and Narika will be up for preorder on May 25th and June 25th respectively, with release scheduled for July and August. These are also both Volks shop limited so proxy buying may be necessary (damn you Volks!). (no more)
Well, Volks are probably against Ainu’s too, so we’re all in for a commie society, right? O_o
I could care less what Volks does – there’s way better companies out there creating what we like, so forget ’em I say..
Ou! I can’t wait to see the details on Rin and Len. I hope GSC or other companies hop on the other Vocaloid characters as well (not just nendoroid versions either!). It would be great to have the whole set up and not just Miku.
I can never understand Volks. Why must they make almost all their products store/Japan-only exclusives? Don’t they want our money? :(
I would absolutely love to have their recently out Muv-Luv trading figures (AGE collection vol.2, IIRC), but it seems that no online stores stock them, and I don’t want to pay a premium to have a middle man in Japan buying them, then mail it over to me :(

I guess their top priority is pleasing the fans back home (Because truthfully that’s where 90% of them are located).
I’d ask SMJ to order a copy of Sen Hime ver 2 and Rei movie ver (GKs from VOLKS ALL THAT’S HOBBY 09) for me online, but I know they’ll sell out pretty much right away in the first 10 mins.
Ren and Lin will never reach the elevated peak of popularity where Miku resides. Such a somber thought. ;(
^ OMG I totally misspelled their names x_x
Has anyone ever asked Volks why they don’t sell their stuff outside Japan? I’d like to know their official position.
I think Volks probably is only thinking about the economy of Japan and that being where they are (mostly) located. I am sure they are not doing it out of spite ^^; Considering they have a US doll store front and site it’s not like they are completely hating us lol
As for using a proxy, I’d only do that if they released a figure of the male one with the blue hair (dunno his name) aside from Miku he is my favorite!

I don’t believe anyone has asked them directly. Might be a project worth looking into…
Well, if Volks ever change their position on overseas customers, they’ll easily make 120,000yen off me straight away. No questions asked. (Yeah, I’m still thinking about their two 1/4 scale completed resin Rance figures.)

Give deputy services a shot (Since you’re willing to spend that much money). They do web orders for you (Assuming the items don’t sell out before they’re able to place the order).

– Ooh! Japan
– Akibado
Go with Shopping Mall Japan. They’re quite nice.
Thanks serogane, but I won’t pay extras (20% commission + Japan sales tax + shipping + SG sales tax on the whole package+shipping price) over the standard retail price for a figure, not anymore anyway.
I’m over my Swatch/Star Wars addiction days.
Anyway, this is meant to be a pleasurable hobby, not a stress inducing, wallet burning hunt for a artificially created limited figure hunt.
Of course. Well, more power to you man.
It’s possible that they don’t feel they’ll make much on those products overseas.
I doubt Volks is totally aginst selling into foreign markets however.
Their Dollfie brand dolls are sold overseas, but as far as I know that market is huge!
They even have a English/US side for that purpose

In the end I think it’s about how much they have to gain by marketing abroad.
