Online shop Getchu updated this evening with a product listing for an item that’s sure to turn a lot of heads: Yamashita Shunya’s newly announced second artbook, WILD FLOWER. This is the first visual collection of his work following the release of Sweet Dreams almost three years ago, and Getchu’s listing provides some tantalizing details: the book is the first print publication ever credited to figure maker Kotobukiya, with production from publisher Shinkigensha (know otherwise for their role playing sourcebooks and other geeky material). It’s scheduled for release on June 10th at 2,900 yen retail, A4 size, 128 pages and includes over 100 illustrations ranging from original work to figure designs and card game illustrations. Several sample images are presented, which are duplicated below:

We’ll keep an eye out for preorders to appear at other online shops soon, if they haven’t already.

Oh sweet nectar. I cannot wait for this; Shunya is one of my top three favorite artists.
Thank you for breaking this Shingo. Damn, now I’m all giddy.
I just bought his first one, but I will not wait to buy this one !
just pre-ordered mine yesterday, looks like there’s a lot of pastel colors usage in this one.
This is great news! Shunya has a style like no one else and it’s no wonder that so many figures have been made from his designs. This is such a must buy.
128 pages of pretty *ω* Timing couldn’t be better, was going to order a couple of artbooks off amazon.jp including his first one next month anyway.
good god this news is wonderful!
Wow- looks fantastic- I’m watching my finances but this is going in the get pile- I loved his first art book and a second one is going to be great.
sign me up!

Have to buy this even though I’ll probably only flip through it once and relegate it to the growing stack of read-only-once books.
Amazon’s showing 2730 yen retail and June 7th release btw.

Amazon is also smoking crack, but they’ve been known to do that from time to time.

Yes, Amazon and crack sometimes go together. They currently have no clue when they’ll be getting Welcome to the NHK Vol.4 in on DVD, which I’ve had preordered from them for a month or so, and street dated on Tuesday… and has been available from some other sites for a week or two.:(
Oh Amazon, always a barrel of laughs. If I wasn’t buying stuff several weeks late in the first place, I’d be pissed. I’m still waiting for them to re-source items on a 9-month old order.
I Just love the artist and the way he gives his characters those sweet blushy faces. Can’t wait for the artbook.
