Max Factory’s action figure brand Figma updated their official blog over the noon hour today with the news that their Fate Testarossa action figure from Nanoha StrikerS will include her weapon Bardiche Assault’s (very, very large) Zamber form. Having not seen more than a couple of Nanoha episodes I can’t claim to understand the full significance of this, but it looks… like a really big sword (yeah, I’m clueless here). We’ll look for more production shots of this new Figma offering as her preorder nears. The blog post also confirms that we can expect Figma Nanoha and Figma Kyon to ship on May 24th. We’ll bring further news on the lineup as it comes in. (no more)
>I can’t claim to understand the full significance of this
It’s nothing important, just very, very silly. The TV version of season 3 have her using it to do a homerun hit on some villain, causing the poor guy to fly sky high.
Zamber form is kinda important in A’s with how its used, without spoiling it.
In StrikerS, it’s just plain stupid, like the rest of that abomination. The scene desudesu is referring to is where Fate is using Riot Zamber. lol Engrish.
P-A finally listed Figma Kyon and Nanoha, I hope the late listing means they waited to definitely secure a lot (what with the first round of Saber being overwhelmed by demand and all). Thanks for the update, now I know when to expect Kyon ^^
>>desudesu, Link
Thanks for the clarification. Do you think it’s important enough to her character that it’ll be a sales point for the figure, or more just a gimmick?
>>byaku-chan
Nice call on Kyon and Nanoha at Play-Asia, I was wondering where they were. It seems Saber has been the most popular thus far (with the possible exception of the first round Nagato), I’m guessing we won’t see quite the same stampede for most others in the lineup.
Yes! I actually prefer Bardiche’s Zanber form! Just waiting for a pre-order to open! =)

It’s just THAT silly.
I wouldn’t call it a gimmick, unless Max Factory releases another version of Fate in her other clothing (skin-tight black costume, with a tiny skirt, IIRC). By the way, what’s the relationship between Max Factory and GSD? I saw GSC’s logo printed on the back of my Figma Haruhi packaging, not to mention GSD’s site listing them etc. GSD helps out other companies in their sale distribution or something?
D:
I meant by GSC, GoodSmile Company in the previous post, not GSD.
Zanber form is used much more in StrikerS so it sort of makes sense. In fact, I think she hardly used Bardiche in the standard Scythe-like Harken form in StrikerS.
Not that it matters, since her ‘new’ full power mode was the True sonic form, which had her wielding 2 blades at once. That was kinda cool, but it also changed the costume she was wearing so I don’t think the Figma will cover that…
>which had her wielding 2 blades at once
these? http://www.goodsmile.info/products/gsc/2008/gsc0806-04.html
I like how it’s $38 despite just being tiny keychains, and at Figma scale too.
>I don’t think the Figma will cover that…
I hope Max Factory love our money enough to do it sometime soon. Wouldn’t mind getting that too.
>>desudesu
yeah, that’s the true sonic form. I bought a liquidstone poseable figure off Yahoo! Japan auction.

Mine was a little more expensive than the current price of that auction tho. But i’m sure it’ll go up.
Should be interesting to see how it compares to the premade figures like fraulein and Figma.
Oh god, $200 for one. I find it too hard to part with that much monies just for one figure. So how was it? You received it yet? Don’t think I saw it on your site.

Wow, didn’t knew they made so many either (I’ve only saw the Subaru and Vita). They come precolored, or is one expected to paint it like a regular resin kit?
It hasn’t arrived yet, although the fixed pose resin figure of fate (agian, in true sonic form) just arrived today.
I’ll have more info when I get the fate figure. but I’m going to try and get a nanoha too. Although I just might settle for a figma. bit cheaper…
How much did you paid for the shipping, all the way from Japan to UK?
shipping varies depending on the item size. I’ve had varying shipping costs from 2000~5000 yen. Ignis the white was closer to the 5000 mark while my fixed pose and liquidstone fate figures had shipping costs of 1000 and 2500 yen respectively.
it also helps that I don’t have to pay any agent fees for my auction bids.
>>gundamjehutykai
Which service do you use for your auctions?
I don’t get whats so silly about using your weapon to stun/immobilize an enemy. Her goal was not to kill him and thus the action of using the flat of the blade.
But I must admit that StrikerS is fail compared to A’s in general, and so that’ll include the use of zamber form. The use of it in A’s however, I would say to be significant.

I don’t use an online agent service for my auctions. I am fortunate to have a friend with a japanese address and bank account so I just wire funds over from time to time into a pool and ask her to bid on auctions on my behalf. The only problem is that it can take a considerable amount of time to get them if the seller doesn’t ship internationally, but i still get them.
>> SDJFX18
I wouldn’t say that StrikerS was fail, but the first 11 or so eps were fairly pointless and progressed the story at a snails pace so they probably could have fit most of the important stuff in a 13 ep series. but Zanber form in A’s had very little use and was not really wielded. It just allowed for some serious magic to be used.
Although many liked the original and A’s better because of the storyline, some people just liked it because of the loliness.
>>desudesu
And yeah, on yahoo auction there are some people who pay crazy prizes to get just one figure. You think $200 is a lot? Check this auction.

Oh the Kanu fandom. It’s just insane.

D:
Oh god, from $500 to $3520…
>I don’t get whats so silly about using your weapon to stun/immobilize an enemy.
I don’t know, it’s pretty well established in the previous two seasons that they can use their abilities to create magical binds or shields to immobilize a person, so not use those? Not to mention the homerun scene just looked funny by itself.
>>Desudesu
Ah, you forget that, at that point in the story, there was a massive anti-magic field in place so any binds created by Fate would have been exceptionally weak and easy to break out of.
I just never got the point of making one big sword again in the scene, since that was what it was originally
>Ah, you forget that, at that point in the story, there was a massive anti-magic field in place so any binds created by Fate would have been exceptionally weak and easy to break out of.
Ah, that explains it. I never got pass the first 10 episodes of StrikerS. Boring training episodes are boring. Not to mention the production budget was low for the TV version.
