Three minor bits of figure news today: first is word from Kotobukiya that their plug suit Ayanami Rei will be reissued in September at 7,140 yen, 1/6 scale (20 cm tall), and with a sculpt from Shirahige Tsukuru. Preorders for the reissue should be open soon.
Next, online shop Ganbo Store has announced that preorders for a limited color version of Happinet’s armored Kanu Unchou will open officially at noon on May 22nd. We can infer from this that regular edition preorders will open around that same time as well, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for those in the next week or two.
Finally, Hobby Japan is reporting that their magazine-limited Jingai Makyou Didii will be shipping on May 21st. Those who ordered via Play-Asia or another proxy service can expect their deliveries to ship around that time. (no more)
I’m waiting my Didii from Play-Asia. One more figure for this month ! whoohoo !
I’ll be very interested in the official details on the regular version of the SMC armored Kanu. Hopefully it will be ‘reasonably priced’. Also curious to see if it is a Hiroman sculpt, as I’ve speculated it might be.

Wasn’t the SMC Kanu confirmed as a Hiroman sculpt at some point? I’m not currently able to search comments or post excerpts so I’m not sure where we discussed it earlier, but I seem to recall finding confirmation since she was first presented at Wonder Festival.
Hi Shingo & the_pseudokings,
The price for regular edition should be around 7,329 Yen & it’s schedule to be release on August 2008. Refer to the following link for some more details on this Happinet’s armored Kanu Unchou. http://akibahobby.net/2008/05/sugarmint_kanu_sample.html
I’m going to pre-order this figure, really hope that the actual figure will be as good as prototype, not to be the same failure as Sekirei Musubi (Race Queen Ver) from Movic & Miraroma – Erika Seihouin from Orchid Seed. Shingo & the_pseudokings are you all with me?

Thanks for the link, that’ll teach me to be more disciplined in my checking of Akiba Hobby. Interesting to see that distribution is planned through Toy’sworks… As a Kanu whore I’ll certainly be preordering this, though I’m still maintaining a cautious pessimism regarding the production quality. Hoping to be happily surprised.

Yeah, I’m with you guys, unless I can’t find a reasonable price from one of my sources. Assuming its not too expensive here in the US, it’s a no-brainer.
>>Shingo
I remember presenting the thought that it looked like a Hiroman, since it was announced at the same time as his Ah! Megamisama piece and has a similar face (and his sense of detail in the outfit). And I remember you agreed with me that it seemed likely it was a Hiroman, but at least at the time there was no way to get confirmation. I suppose you could have found confirmation since then, but I don’t remember it being posted anywhere here on HD. Of course I could have missed it.
Count me in as well. Prototype looks great. But with that pose, I fear a case of the bendies…
Anyway, to be fair to Movic, their Toyonaka Haruru figure I received is well-made. So it’s 2/3 for me from Movic.
