I was more referring to the jilted Lucky Star eps. 1-4 director being put on the project, though you have a point – take Shinbo away from SZS and you’d have something similar to a darkly ironic Lucky Star. I don’t know if SZS would work without his distinctive style, though, and that definitely feels different from Lucky Star to me.

Agreed! I hope the producers notice her popularity and adapt a future episode to suit.

I’m not familiar with the original Kannagi source material, though to play the devil’s advocate it seems the same could be said for Haruhi, based on reviews of the novels written before the anime aired. That said I wouldn’t say more than that it’s worth keeping an eye on at this point.

We better get a Klan-only episode or I’ll go crazy with the very scarce screen time she is getting. Full body shots (in both forms) should be included.

Also, unless they do some drastic change to the source material, I don’t think Kannagi will reach Haruhi/LS craze levels (even with that staff). However, it’ll be tons of fun, that I can be sure of.

I think Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei was a better spirit successor of Lucky Star considering the ton of references, it’s too bad you have to pause every 10 sec to read them though.

I don’t see Kannagi as a LS type anime yet, not enough material and not enough slice of life even if there are some good jokes…

WOOT! I didn’t know there’s an updated Queadluun-Rau mecha in MF. Very nice indeed. (I didn’t bother with MF as I’m sick of Valks and their variants)

Looking forward to the second episode of Renketsu Houshiki. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. That’s always a good thing.
