Figure maker Yamato updated their official site yesterday evening with a listing for their upcoming Ryomou Shimei action figure from Ikkitousen. Part of their new VMF (“Variable Motion Figure”) series, she stands 23 cm tall at 1/7 scale, with 19 points of articulation, two pairs of exchangeable wrist/hand parts and a removable skirt. She’s scheduled to retail in August at 8,190 yen (tax included). The sculptor is not currently credited in Yamato’s listing. With her up at their official site preorders should begin shortly! Producing action figures is the trend these days, eh? Thank you so much, Kaiyodo, for proving that action figures actually sell (if only they could improve their Revoltech Flaurien line so that the characters don’t have a terrible dead-fish expression on their faces…)
Castoffable down to the undies…..LOL!! Faithful to the manga!
I’ve been waiting for this to go on preorder. Anyone know if the Kanu action figure(shown at previous WF events) is going to hit retail anytime soon?

Are you talking about the Figma Kanu?
If so, there’s no word yet on a release date, unfortunately.
Thats the one. I hope they announce something on it soon.
I think the undies are removable as well, provided the factory doesn’t glue it onto the generic movable body.
It looks alright. But I’m just not into movable figures, as the joints make them look like androids. Poseable mecha are a better deal. A better way to do it is like Medicos, with real clothes covering the jointed body. But those are expensive.
Another reason for me not liking movable figures is that the joints do become loose, or aren’t well made in the first place. Too bad, but it seems that Japanese and American companies (MATTEL) can never make figures with movable joints as good as LEGO.
