Amiami’s evening update today included a preorder listing for Solid Theater’s Himomizugi no Onna no Ko (string swimsuit girl) PVC figure. This is a figure we’ve been following closely, both for her obviously appealing attributes as well as her status as the first product unveiled by the Solid Theater brand since their acquisition by Movic; with her now available for preorder it seems the logistical transition went smoothly enough. As earlier reported the kit is based on the September 2006 cover illustration by Miwa Miwa of eromanga serial magazine Monthly Comic Papipo (月刊COMICパピポ), which has since ceased publication. The sculpt was produced by Shinano, who other than a few capsule figures and Solid Theater’s likewise Papipo-inspired Maid no Onna no Ko has been active primarily on the garage kit side ([ERO] Karen from Ai no Chikara and Sumire from Jokei Kazoku ~Inbou~ with circle Gankura). The figure is scheduled for release in August at 1/8 scale (20 cm tall) and 7,140 yen retail, with dress and front pieces castoffable. Full gallery below:

Amiami’s listing describes her as “1/7 scale” with no height listed; I’ll defer to the description at GA Graphic that gives her 1/8 scale and 20 cm until Solid Theater gets an official page online. With her preorder open at Amiami she should be appearing elsewhere shortly as well… now to go put mine in! My preorder, that is.
I’ll wait till both HLJ and Play-Asia have it for pre-order, and buy which ever has the best price. G
lad the time is finally near, been waiting for it ever since I saw it in one of your previous reports.
very nice… now what’s that US price gonna be… if it’s not too high, I’m gettin’ this one.
Booyah! Its a matter of time now until other online shops open pre-orders as well! Here’s hoping Play-Asia will open a pre-order at a decent price… =)
My Wallet keeps getting thinner this time of year . . .
Wow! Pleasantly surprised that her white bikini top is also castoffable. Very nice. Definitely a pre-order for me. But, these figures are getting more expensive every day – sigh… 1/8 scale at 7k+ yen
That swimsuit can’t be comfortable. Nice figure, though.
Shingo, is it possible for you to put up a scan of that Papipo cover?
Preordered. Found that good deal on Kid Nemo (at least as of when I ordered). Hopefully anyone else in the US interested can get this deal before they change it.
I find myself more curious as to how the cast-off is done.

Holy fuck, $59.90?

I don’t have the magazine myself, but I’ve put the highest resolution image I could find into the post body (thanks, Amazon!).
nice to see the art, I think Shinano add some class in his 3D rendition.
damnit… that would be ‘added’ some class… if only I could type somewhere in the ballpark of half as fast as I think.
Yay! Pre-order is now open at Play-Asia! :D

Sweet, thanks for the heads up!
Thanks L.C
Just ordered from Play-Asia.
Thats one down i’ve been waiting for, just want more info and pre-orders on the Queen’s Blade ‘Beladona’ now :/
ehhh.. I had a not so great experience with the 1 solid theater figure i bought.. (can’t recall the name, the sitting girl with the loose katana).. and although this one looks to be better quality, they have this issue where they make the nipples a little too hard edged and pinkish for my tastes.. Tho this one definately does look better, I have a feeling the finish product wont fair quite as well.. Also the bikini lines through the chest, just seems suspect to me for having some bad production in that area.. But i’m being pre-judgemental on just pictures.. I’ll wait for shingo’s review but i suspect i’ll be passing on this one too..

Not sure if you saw the HD review of Solid Theater’s kimono girl, but I agree with you – it was pretty much an abortion.
Oddly enough the maid girl figure that was the first in their “onna no ko” series, also sculpted by Shinano, came out quite well… I didn’t review it, but I can take some shots if you’re interested in a comparison.
