Figure maker Yamato updated their event page today with a listing for their appearance at World Hobby Festival Ariake 18 Final on May 5th. All of the display items listed there are things we’ve seen before, except for one intriguing addition to the Creators’ Labo lineup – a figure described simply as “Jingai Makyou Ignis”. I thought Orchid Seed’s Ignis the White brought an end to the storied dynasty of Ignis figures last fall, but it seems she’ll be back for at least one final PVC encore. This raises the question of which Ignis kit the listing is referring to; my money is on Cerberus Project (G.O)’s version, given that a) Yamato has featured Cerberus in the Creators’ Labo series in the past, and b) I’m not aware of any other non-PVCified Ignis kits of any quality still at large. We’ll be keeping a close eye out for further news on this kit, and will be sure to document the display prototype fully at the event. (no more)
Omg! If that is the kit that they’re going to make in PVC I would definitely get it regardless of not being much of a Yamato fan. I really love that Ignis kit.
I feel exactly the same. I WILL buy it if it’s that kit.
Nyx : same , I’m not a Yamato Fan, but I was VERY VERY CLOSE buying that cerberus project Ignis resin recast completed from gathering…
Now I really hope they make that or make something even better than that… :)
If it’s the G.O (Cerberus Project) rendition (and I’m with you on this one Shingo, it just about has to be) I will absolutely get it without a shadow of a doubt. I AM a Yamato fan, unlike many of you that seem to have gone out of your way to find something to dislike, despite them consistently translating the best GKs in the realm into high quality PVCs (which I bet you is a hell of a lot more difficult than going straight to PVC with a sculpt, as there is a pre-existing expectation and any little changes to make the PVC easier to produce will be turned into a sin against hobbyists by the community, where as a straight to PVC piece can be massaged before it’s ever shown to the public to make it easier to produce). And it’s not like I’m claiming they have a perfect record, but no company does. Anyway, back to the Ignis, I really hope that it is the G.O. I had just about given up hope it would make it to PVC, and I’ve always really liked it, even before I had any idea who Ignis was.
As an owner of one of the original resin casts, I hope that it’s an original sculpt.
I’m probably in the minority, but i’d be a little annoyed after tracking down and paying a premium for a resin kit only to find that they’re releasing a cheaper PVC version later…
Dammit! This could end up being my first Yamato piece, depending on how it turns out. And here I swore I’d stick to only getting one Ignis…
Yeah, the (wonderful) model from Cerberus Project is most likely to be the one chosed from Yamato.
They took some time to made this move, since auction sites are full of cheap bootlegs of that model (in PVC and not resin, wich is even odder)
And no,I don’t buy that kind of fakes.
Yamato’s record for bishojo figures is very good actually. I’ve yet any complaints about the Yamato figures I own. e.g. Their Tandem Twin figures are very good. And the scale’s generously big compared to offerings like Orchid Seed’s or Griffon.
Their Macross Valkyries, on the other hand, is a different kettle of fish altogether.
Anyway, if it’s this Cerberus version, I will definitely grab 1 right away. (If they retain the cast off feature, I’ll even get a pair. 8))
This is probably the most dynamic pose of the whole lot.
Oh my, that Ignis figurine design is quite stunning indeed. I may have to reconsider my ‘One figurine per series’ rule…
Well, I’m a fan of Yamato, especially their Creator’s Labo series. I own four from that series (Meg normal and pink, Mine bluE #10, Non-non) and the Kinoshita Rumi SIF EX is excellent. The cast-off is perfect on that on! ^^
I will buy this if it’s the one people are cramming to get, and even if it’s not. But, since it’s a Creator’s Labo, it has to be an already established one, and Cerberus Project has featured extensively in that line-up..
Looks like it’s finally confirmed with this picture from moeyo.. ?

It’ll be interesting to see how well Yamato adapts a kit of this calibre to PVC, would definitely like to preorder this. I can only hope the ongoing collabs with Cerberus Project mean a PVC of Sunny Day’s Shunya Emaretta is not too far off, still pining for that one.
