Update: It seems a few shops opened the preorder window briefly at midnight last night, so people are taking the April 25th preorder date seriously. We can expect to see her roll out over the full compliment of online retailers throughout the day today.

Original Post: We learned earlier today that Goodsmile’s 1/8 scale Hatsune Miku PVC figure would be going up for preorder tomorrow (April 25th), but in a surprise move Amiami put up a listing for her tonight, albeit without the ability to actually place an order. We now have full details on her configuration as well, which along with an official image gallery can be found below:
Goodsmile’s Miku will hit store shelves in September at 1/8 scale (18 cm tall) and a retail price of 5,500 yen, with a sculpt from YOSHI (Trepang). She’s based on an original illustration by Miku character designer Kei (pictured here), and comes with a specially crafted base different from the generic one in the images below:

I’m really not sure about which one to get; GSC Miku or Volks Miku… Volks Miku seems to be a better deal for its price, but GSC Miku is less expensive after all. I just might skip both and go for figma Hatsune Miku when it comes out. ~_~
As stated in the Mainichi news section, I’ve preordered this through Hobby Search, where they actually list her as 100mm yall! I think they’ve got her mistaken for the Nendoroid version, which I’ve also preordered.
As for the Volks version, if it became internationally avaialble through online shops, then I’d consider her, but since that’s not likely, I’m all for the easier (and much more reliable – it’s GSC we’re talking about here) way to get Miku! ^_^
I’ve already got Miku on pre-order with Hobby Search. I can’t wait to add her to the collection.
