The official site of otaku goods retailer and producer Toranoana was updated this evening to announce the creation of a new figure brand dubbed TC2F (”Toranoana & Creators Collaboration Figure”). The first item in the brand’s lineup will be a collaboration with T2 ART WORKS (Taka Tony): the “bikini maid girl” figure we first reported on at the beginning of this month. The official TC2F page reports that the figure is a collaboration between Tony and sculptor Maeda Tomoki of Works Sapporo, is 1/8 scale, does not appear castoffable (other than two pairs of glasses as option parts), and is scheduled to retail in late May at the astoundingly low price of 4,515 yen (with telephone card) or 3,990 yen (figure alone).
The bad news is that the TC2F series is apparently “100% Toranoana Store Limited”, meaning a trip to the proxy service is in order for fans outside Japan. At that price I think many may bite the bullet and pay the extra finder’s fee…

For those contemplating a proxy purchase the kit is currently available for preorder at Toranoana’s online shop in telephone card and standard varieties.

I don’t know, Shingo – the face on this one looks a bit 微妙 to me. If it were up to the same standard as the Shining Wind figures I’d buy it in a heartbeat, but as it is it doesn’t really grab my wallet much.
More sample pictures required. Doesn’t remind me much of Tony’s work at all. Biggest selling points are probably cheap price and nice tits.
doesn’t look like I remember the 1st proto shot looking.
I hate to hear about the proxy buying on that figure, I found too many issues when I’ve tried it in the past. Too bad it’s not going to be available next week when I’m in country . . .
While I was reading the post I was ready to write “DO WANT” but when I saw the pics and it went for DO NOT WANT.
“100% Toranoana Store Limited”
Does that mean it would be available at their retail store as well?
I loved the illustration that this figure was based on, but I’m not liking the figure as much. I guess that’s a good thing since I won’t do proxy buying anymore.

Agreed, it’s looking pretty iffy to me too. Especially after seeing the shots over at Akiba Hobby… I guess the low price has to come from somewhere. Still, at under 4,000 yen I’ll probably end up springing for it. -_-;;

Affirmative, the figure should be available at Toranoana’s brick and mortar locations as well as via mail order.

I wish there were a realistic alternative to proxy buying for this sort of thing. I might try to see if J-List could carry it, but if they did it would be at a pretty steep markup. :/
Ridiculous, I am getting more and more disappointed each time I see a new Tony Taka inspired figure. I just want a decent one that’s not from the Shining series!
Guess I will saving my money for other stuff (Daiki, Megahouse, MaxFactory), as apparently a gaijin money’s not worth earning. (Toranoana + Volks)
Oh well, their loss. 8) No point losing sleep over it. Nowadays, I won’t jump through hoops just to get a rare limited figure. (Money and time can be spend in better ways and in more worthy causes)
