Hobby Stock’s lycoris radiata Tsuzuri, now in color

We first reported the news that Hobby Stock was working on a store-limited Tsuzuri PVC from Terios eroge りこりす -lycoris radiata- following Wonder Festival 2007 Summer almost eight months ago. An unpainted prototype surfaced in February, and this evening the first color shots of the kit have arrived online, courtesy of both Hobby Stock and Akiba Hobby. Little is known about the kit at this point other than that she’s 1/8 scale, is based on an original illustration by Yokota Mamoru, is being produced in cooperation with Alter, and is castoffable to at least some extent (as hinted at by the seam in this image and in the text of the Hobby Stock article). The sculptor is currently uncredited and there is no information regarding the precise size of the kit, its price, or a release timeframe; we do know that she is limited to Hobby Stock sale only, so purchase via proxy will be necessary for those outside Japan. We’ll keep an eye out for the eventual preorder listing and castoff images. A single selection from Hobby Stock’s gallery is reproduced below:

Hobby Figures Mugen in color!

The kind folks at Hobby Figures hooked us up with some new high-resolution images of their pre-painted Mugen cold cast figure from Samurai Champloo this morning that we’re happy to be able to present below. They also informed us that while not yet described on the official product page, Mugen will ship with magnets embedded in the arm and leg parts for optimum easy assembly. The kit retails in June at 1/8 scale (14.5 cm tall, 26 cm long) and features a sculpt from Takahashi Tsuyoshi (Ichigo Eiga Ippai Sake). Retail price is 12,800 yen, and the kit is a limited run of 2,000 pieces worldwide. High-resolution images below:

Kotobukiya’s Beat Blades Haruka preorder open

Kotobukiya posted a vendor product listing today for their latest PVC figure announcement, Sennin Haruka (Takamori Haruka from the recently released Alice Soft eroge Choukou Sennin Haruka / Beat Blades Haruka). She is scheduled for release in July at 1/8 scale and 6,090 yen retail, with a sculpt from Makio Munetoshi. This release was originally scooped at Wonder Festival, and follows February’s announcement from Kotobukiya of Beat Blades co-heroine Sennin Narika [PA]. With this listing going out to retailers today we can expect preorders to appear shortly, likely as part of Amiami’s noon update. Images below:

Shining Force EXA’s Riemsianne announced

We got our first glimpse of her back in February, and today President Japan sub-brand Eye Scream updated their product lineup with an entry for their Riemsianne PVC from Shining Force EXA. She’s scheduled for release in August at 1/8 scale, 37 cm tall, and 16,800 yen retail (ouch…). With her listed on the official Eye Scream page preorders should be opening shortly. Sculptor information is currently unknown, but we’ve got pictures below:

Volks x Alice Soft figure project update

A couple of news items from the Volks x Alice Soft figure collaboration project to report today: first is word that the votes from the Rance figure selection poll have finally been tallied! And the winner is… drumrolldrumrolldrumrollMasou Shizuka, from Rance VI! Receiving 5231 of the 43,747 votes cast, she narrowly beat out Rance Nazo no Shoujo to be selected as the first PVC figure in Volks’s upcoming Rance series. We’ll keep an eye out for a prototype to appear within the next few months.

In other, considerably gloomier news, HD reader Baldulf came across this scan yesterday that provides additional information on the release of Volks’s Choukou Sennin Haruka (Beat Blades Haruka) PVCs. Both Haruka and Narika are due out at 1/7 scale and 6,500 yen retail, with sculpts from Chorosuke; Haruka is set for release in June, with Narika coming in July. The unfortunate conclusion to this is that both figures will be available exclusively through Volks’s retail stores, mail order and online shop – meaning it’s proxy time for anyone outside Japan with their eye on these figures. We can bet the same will be true for the Rance project as well… Damn it Volks, when will you wake up to the reality of the international marketplace? (no more)
