Otaku goods shop Toranoana posted a preorder listing today for Naruko Hanaharu‘s first ever eromanga tankoubon, dubbed Shoujo Material. More details have emerged on the volume since we first scooped it back in February: the name (Shoujo Material), the tentative price (1,365 yen), and a release time frame (May 2008) are all present in the preorder listing, along with an image that is likely either the cover or the frontspiece. As most eromanga tankoubon retail for around 1,000 yen, the elevated price indicates that Hanaharu’s book will contain more than the usual number of color pages; It’s not likely that we’ll get any further details on the release before it reaches store shelves, but we’ll be keeping a close eye out for an official street date. If anyone has importing suggestions for fellow international fans you’d be doing us a great service if you’d post them to comments.
IIRC Amazon still ships eromanga internationally.
Mmmm good. May is most eagerly awaited.
I think Amazon will not ship 18+ material overseas (and has prohibitive shipping costs anyway). My suggestion for international shipping would be Mangaoh Club:

I am eagerly awaiting this. Glad he’s finally getting a volume out. Now I don’t need these scans anymore. Excerrrrrent. ;l
Bk1 doesn’t seem to stock it. This is the second time they disappoint me these past 2 weeks as they didn’t carry Witchcraft either…
Time to give Mangaoh a try, then. Thanks for the link mt-i !
It seems that Amazon will not ship anything specifically flagged as adult material internationally, however this does not include all of the H books they sell – some stuff remains un-flagged for some reason.
I have ordered from Mangaoh and been quite satisfied, though their shipping is (like Amazon’s) pretty expensive..
I think I’ll grab this when I’m in Japan. Only thing I’m afraid of is Customs opening my bags (which they always do b/c apparently I look like a terrorist) and finding this in there and declaring me a pedo ^^;;;;;;;

Not good either case. Be careful. Being labelled either a terrorist or pedo can get one locked up for a very long time.
Case in point: A Singapore Airline pilot got his bag searched in an European country and they found these type of manga in his possession. He was arrested immediately for being a pedo.
I’ll definitely be looking out for this issue when I go to Japan this September. Hanaharu’s artwork is just delicious. :9
you *may* be able to get around amazon’s international shipping restriction on 18+ products I think if they haven’t tagged it as such. I wouldn’t count on it though… I think I’ve tried it before on several 18+ products and most of them came back as non-shippable, though maybe one or two of them got through…
If you have a Kinokuniya bookstore near you, you may also be able to special order it at no extra cost to you. I’ve never special ordered eromanga before though (just non adult manga), so I don’t know what kind of looks you’ll get from the employees there when you go in to pick it up…

Well, it worked for me for several items in the past (the Makai tenshi Jibril 2 fanbook et the big Mahou Shoujo ai three-artbooks-in-one, for example). As you said, as long as an item is not tagged as 18+, it may work, but it’s purely a question of luck, and the longer you wait to make your order, the more chances you have of seeing your item tagged back as 18+.
Just got my copy in from HMV.co.jp
No customs hassles at all :D
Very nice stuff!
