Shining a spotlight on some more recent figure news, Volks has opened preorders at their official web shop for the Moekore (M.O.E. Collection) Age Ultimate Characters 02 trading figure set from Muv Luv. The set contains six characters from Muv Luv Alternative and Muv Luv Total Eclipse, including Suzumiya Haruka, Hayase Mitsuki, Suzumiya Akane, Kashiwagi Haruko, Kriska Barchenowa, and Inia Jestina. The set is available exclusively from Volks’ online shop and brick and mortar retail store locations, and is only available in box form (7,040 yen for a box of eight; Haruka and Mitsuki are doubles). The sculpt is from Takami Toshiaki (Zoukei-Mura), and figure size dimensions are undisclosed. The set is scheduled to retail in late April or early May.
In breaking news, samples of the set went on display at Volks locations in Akihabara, Nagoya, and Osaka today, and the official Volks blog took the scoop with detailed shots of each figure. Official product image below:

Ack! I’ve been waiting for news on this trading figure set based on MuvLuv, why-oh-why do they have to be exclusives, sad… =(
not only is it annoying as a westerner that Volks items are never available, but I think the limited availability even in JP also shows their resistance to, if not disdain for PVC. They often have excellent sculpts and interesting items, but their approach to business just seems antiquated, and divisive, and after a point (one I’m sure many HD readers, including myself are long since past) at which you just start to groan when you find out a sculpt you like is coming from Volks. Hopefully they will wake up soon.
Bloody gaijin, you shall never have our figures! Nyahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
I love Volks’ MuvLuv work, but I hate Volks’ marketing practices. Its like the early days of FSS all over again, like looking through imported issues of Hobby Japan back in the 80s. Sigh…
Of course, YahooJP is swamped with their MuvLuv A3 Senjutsuki figures. Maybe these will end up the same way.
hmm, No wonder I haven’t heard anything about the vol 1….. why won’t they give preorders to HLJ, Hobby search, play-asia, etc ? Aren’t these sellers location supposed to be in Japan too ?
This is more like the kotobukiya limited shop thing….
I guess we can forget about the beat blades haruka, sengoku rance PVCs…. :(
Oh well, I have come to terms with companies like this. If they don’t want my money, it’s fine with me. I can spend it elsewhere on companies that welcome my gaijin money. (Thanks for the great figures from Daiki, Megahouse, MaxFactory, etc)

I’m pretty sure that Volks is planning to release their Alice Soft collaboration PVC figures via general market distribution (as they have done with many of the Rance resin kits). I may be wrong on this, but I’m holding out hopes that Volks will see the light soon.
Shingo
I really hope they distributed it normally…. because by far, their beat blades haruka character sculpt should be the best, if not I might just go with Alter since I’m an Alter die-hard fan. :)
but yea, about this Muv Luv trading figure, any information about vol 1 ? I mean when is it supposed to be released ? or Is it released already but not available at the retail normal shop at all ? Didn’t even see Moeyo reviewing it or anything….
MuvLuv collection 1 was released at the recent WanFes, and supposedly also at Volks’ shops or online. But no general retail release.

We reported on the release of volume one leading up to Wonder Festival 2008 Winter. Information can be found here, and here.
Following advance release at Wonder Festival the set was available for preorder from the Volks online shop and retail outlets, and subsequently went on sale on March 25th. No general release of the first set has been announced.
The first set is currently still available via Volks’s online shop, if you’d like to try ordering via proxy.
Hey Shingo, do you know the status on these figurines? I kinda forgot to place my pre-order and they don’t seem to be buyable now. Is there any chance that they’ll become available for a bit like the first set was? Excite seems to say something like “awaiting the commodity”.
