Figure Review: Ryomou Shimei (Cerberus Project pearl black ver.)

When French Doll’s Ryomou was first announced for PVC conversion last year I was psyched to have the chance to own a classic Cerberus Project kit without going to the trouble of painting it myself. I missed the deadline for the Comic Gum mail order edition though, and was thus even happier to hear that she would be reissued in this alternate “pearl black” color scheme. While I would’ve prefered the original colors, the chance to own a kit like this could not be passed up, so I bit the bullet and put in an order. Was she worth the trouble? You make the call:

Lucky Star Petit Nendoroid Season 2 preorder open

We reported last week that they would be up for preorder on the 2nd, but it seems the listing was delayed by a day: Goodsmile’s Lucky Star Petit Nendoroid Season 2 trading figures (from Lucky Star) are now available for general release preorder at online shops around the internet. Amiami’s listing confirms the lineup we had scooped earlier, with a box of 12 retailing at 6,000 yen and release expected in June. Further details and images below:

Yamato’s Bonnie, Nasubi-sama preorders open

Amiami posted preorder listings over the noon hour today for two new offerings from Yamato that we’ve had our eye on for the past couple of months: Doubutsu Nee-chan Inu Bonnie, a Yamazaki Kouichi (Tandem Twin) original, and Nasubi-sama, based on the “eggplant girl” illustration from the Okama-illustrated Food Girls artbook and sculpted by Shunji Hagii of Studio Saru Bunshitsu. Bonnie is set to retail in July at 8,190 yen, 18 cm tall (scale unspecified) with optional face part, chest part, glasses, eye mask, and base included, while Nasubi-sama is also coming in July at 8,180 yen, 1/6 scale (26 cm tall), with castoffable skirt and chest covering. Daiki Kougyou’s Toushirou-sculpted Sugimoto Anna preorder open

Initially produced by Toushirou of garage kit circle Cobra-Kai for fellow modeling unit THUNDERROAD STYLE, Senpuu! Midare Fundoshi Sugimoto Anna (Tokkyan Retsuden) is an original character that first saw release as a garage kit at Wonder Festival 2007 Summer (Thunderroad’s coverage here). We saw her in color for the first time at WHF Ariake 17, but had no clue regarding a possible PVC release until today, with Amiami’s listing. According to their update she is set for release in July, in fully painted PVC form, at 9,975 yen and 24 cm tall (scale unspecified). Great news for the Toushirou fans here as it was not at all certain we’d be seeing her in PVC… we’ll be keeping a close eye out for further news on the figure. Image gallery below:

Toradora! anime confirmed

Via Moon Phase: The rumored report of a Toradora! anime that we mentioned last night was confirmed this morning by a post at the Forest Field blog. The news will be officially announced in the coming edition of Dengeki Bunko Magazine set for release on April 10th along with vol. 7 of the Toradora! light novel. No further details regarding the production are yet available, but we’ll be keeping an eye out. (no more)
