The ero-ero garage kit of Ikkitousen‘s Kanu Unchou that Kurushima was selling at Wonder Festival will be coming out in pre-painted cold cast form, according to the maker’s official site as well as preorder listings that began coming online earlier this week. The sculpt is from Kurushima veteran Keiko (慶子), and she’s scheduled to retail in early August at 20,790 yen and 1/6 scale (26 cm tall). Gallery below:

In addition to this regular color version, a Miyazawa Mokei limited edition black version is also scheduled for release. At present the extent of its distribution is unknown.

well I can’t actually read/translate it, but I was pretty sure the Kanu was a Yasumi-chan sculpt.
Yasumi-chan is the name of this character, based upon which a series of figures have been produced. The name is an original trademark of Kurushima but not the name of a sculptor.
It seems 慶子 is read as “Keiko”, according to this page, and is the name of Kurushima’s primary sculptor.
Looks great but too pricey for me >.<
Any PVC release for this?

Yeah, I’m debating myself whether I’ll be able to afford her… ;__;
>>nani
Nope, that’s an event-limited BOME resin kit and they never see PVC release, sadly. With Kaiyodo’s BOME line ending it’s likely she won’t be miniaturized for later release that way either. :(
That statue of Kanu is so lovely. August release eh? I should be making a few bucks here and there to purchase this great rendition of Kanu. <3

Good to know… wish I could read kana, gana and kanji… maybe someday.
Keiko is very good. Noses are a bit pointy though, and the faces tend to be very similar. Can’t argue with the overall look or the body lines though.
Pricey anyway you slice it, so I’ll have to pass. PVC might be a different story, but this is Kurushima we’re talking about so… not bloody likely.
I own Kurushima’s 1/6 scale pink bikini Hakufu and her skin tone is very PALE compared to photos.
Did a few experiments with my camera lighting and it wasn’t difficult to reproduce the colored skin tone effect in the stock photos.

Is the skin tone being very pale good or bad?
I ordered this Kanu as Kurushima’s quality is good based on their Mizuhara-based resin kits which I have. Guess I have to cancel some other stuff which aren’t as nice. (The yen’s dropped below parity with the US$, making Japanese goods that much more expensive for us in Singapore and elsewhere. From earlier last year at S$1.25, it’s now S$1.42, excluding VISA charges. Sigh. Not to mention higher postal charges due to the higher oil prices. 8(
I still have to have this one. She’s the best ever Kanu! ^^
Pricey ^^;
I’m sad to learn that BOME collection is over ! what will be the last piece ?
>> Blacklotus
I would say more bad than good. I wished they airbrushed her skin tone more.
With some lighting techniques my Hakufu looks like this:

I can get a few pictures without any lighting tricks if you like, because the figure’s coloring looks nothing like that to the naked eye.
The final product for the Kanu will probably look closer to Shingo’s photo above than the stock/studio photos. Remember, mass produced prepainted figures tend to vary especially for resin.
Thanks The-O.
Guess I will just buy 1 since I really like the pose of this sculpt as she looks towards heaven. 8)
BTW, the Miyazawa Mokei limited edition black version is also available at HobbySearch for those living outside Japan. I prefer the original colour regular version. (More colors; the black limited one just seems to use black, black and black – saving costs on paint? 8/)
Also at 19800yen, it isn’t cheap, especially with the higher yen exchange rate. And in keeping with my New Year’s resolution, I’m sticking to just the original colour versions. No re-color/alternate/2p colours. 8)
