We wrap up our coverage of Wonder Festival 2008 Winter (for real, this time) with a look at the industry items that fell through the cracks in our earlier reporting. This primarily consists of offerings on display at the Yamato and Happinet booths, but also contains a look at Organic’s Tama-chan from Bamboo Blade and the as-yet unsubstantiated rumor of an Erect Sawaru-designed figure from Solid Theater. Details follow:

Finally, a glance at the blog of eromanga and doujin artist Erect Sawaru reveals in this post that he had an image on display at the Solid Theater booth of a figure they’re planning to produce based on his designs. I didn’t see it when I was there, and it seems I’m not alone – Moeyo doesn’t cover it, GA Graphic doesn’t cover it, Neko ni Gohan doesn’t cover it, and Google searches, they do nothing. I emailed Erect Sawaru this morning to ask him about it and haven’t gotten a reply yet, but I’ll edit this section of the post if/when more is known.
The same goes for any other noteworthy industry information I may have left out – this is where it’ll wind up! Hopefully there’s not too much else that I missed…

which Tandem Twin version is Brenda and which is Bonnie?
I’ve really been looking forward to essence’s Ringo from Yamato. The Mega House Air Gear figures were basically not available in the US (at least I didn’t find them) when they came out quite a while back, and the few others have been either too expensive or not quite up to the quality level I require for purchase.
Looking at the thumbnails up there… maybe the Happinet Kanu is sculpted by Hiroman. The faces on the Kanu and Belldandy look pretty similar. What do you think, Shingo?
Love the Tandem Twins, love the Ghost in the Shell figure, love the Jun bust….these all look great!
Can’t wait to see the Jun bust in color.

Brenda is on the left and Bonnie is on the right, sorry for the lack of clarity on that. I’ve edited the post to suit.
I think it’s certainly possible that the Happinet Kanu is Hiroman work; he’s usually brought on for his elaborate costuming sculpts, and that fits the bill here. The face is pretty nondescript but does seem similar to some of his earlier work… it’s hard to say, but lacking a better candidate at this point it does sound logical.
I’m really looking forward to the Ringo as well – a great study in sexiness without showing quite everything.
Hi Shingo & the_pseudokings,
Yup, I agree too! I’m also looking forward to the EX Noyamano Ringo (transformed disguise ver.) from Yamato. I really like the face that is being sculpture by Uchijima Yasuhiro (essence). They look really pretty and cool! Juz that I find that the clothing for Ringo is abit exposed yet covering the important parts. It will be better if there are more clothes on her upfront and made it castoff. Putting this figure on display doesn’t look too good. Of course, not to forget Happinet Kanu, I will definitely support. Juz hope together with Kotobukiya, they made this figure a good one in the production! Looking forward to pre-order both of them! Cheers! =)
A Minmay doll huh? Guess I can save the money now on other figures. Whew…
Nothing really catches my eye here, which is good for my wallet. 8)
Happinet’s Kanu looks amazing.
Definitely looking forward to Kanu and Belldandy. I would like Ringo as well but as of now she’s a ‘maybe’ due to lack of funds.
Kanu! finally somethng that I am interested for! Belldandy looks awful… >_<
Hey Shingo! Do me a big favour!! Do you have any idea where can I see more pictures of happinet products in this WF? I wanna know more about G.R.O and my sister want to know somethng about gakuen..something and Cyborg 009. Thanks!
Well, the only one I like is Belldandy, but I’d like to see the better photos for when it comes up for sale before I invest in it..
I really like essence’s work, when it’s based on a property, his originals tend to be very simple for some reason, but his work based on known properties tends to be very good and character accurate. The segment in the Air Gear anime with Ringo in this outfit is pretty funny.
I like the Brenda version of the Tandem Twin quite a bit. The tongue sticking out on the Brenda version (and the pink) really don’t appeal to me. Plus the Brenda will go much better with Alma (which is kickass and huge BTW).
I could obviously be wrong on the Hiroman sculpt guess for the Kanu, but often times companies work with a sculptor on multiple figures and, from the nose down the Kanu and Belldandy have near identical faces. It will be interesting to find out who it really is. I like guessing who sculpted certain figures when they have not or not yet been identified by the manufacturer. Speaking of which, anyone know (or have a really good guess) who sculpted the Mega House EM Core Queen’s Blade NIX? I have never been able to find out online and I will finally be getting it on Tuesday.
yeah, in the middle ‘Brenda’ is supposed to be a ‘Bonnie’.
Argh…another typo.
I’m definitely getting that Ringo and Kanu. I’m not a Belldandy fan, but I like the way the figure looks, so I could end up getting one.
