Several new preorders went up today, including the Kanu Unchou and Ryomou Shimei (china dress DVD box ver.) pair from Griffon, two versions of Amami Haruka the first Idolmaster Revoltech and fifth in the Fraeulein series, the SMILE800 V.I.P Aquaplus character trading figures from Goodsmile, and Kotobukiya’s Yamashita Shunya-designed Elf from Mu ~Kiseki no Daichi~. Also a bit of minor Nendoroid news, a Dengeki Daioh figure extra, and release delays from Orchid Seed (I don’t think that item will be surprising to anyone).

Other News
According to this week’s Q&A column on the Goodsmile official blog, their Nendoroid Mikuru is scheduled for re-release! A time frame hasn’t been set, but this is good news for those who missed out on her the first time around. A question was also asked regarding Nendoroid Ignis, who was announced for spring ’08 release back at Wonder Festival 2007 summer; no release date was given, but apparently they’re “still working on it”.
The Dengeki Moeoh blog updated today with the news that the June ’08 issue of Dengeki Daioh (on sale April 21st) will come with an Aoba figure from Jinki / Jinki Extend. Probably not worth picking up the magazine just for this (unless you can come by it with relative ease), but if you were already planning to pick it up this will definitely sweeten the deal.
Finally, in what has become practically a mantra for the company Orchid Seed has announced the release delay of their Comic Unreal Cover Girl Onna Kenshi Feane figure and their Gekkou no Carnevale Anna from February to March. The silver lining to this cloud is that they’re both still available at Play-Asia and J-List respectively, and can be preordered via the links below:
Griffon didn’t waste any time announcing the PVCs on the DVD box China Dress Ikki Tousen figures. Not that I’m complaining.
I think the plan all along was to release them as PVCs. The resin kits I suppose were bonus along the way for WF (I don’t claim to know this for a fact lol). What I’m wondering is how come there still aren’t any pictures of the completed production model for the maid clothing version Ryomou up on preorder sites. I haven’t seen any good detailed shots of her from any of the WF coverage sites either…they all seem to avoid the face for some reason lol. Ettendu from ToysLogic though says that she looks “aweeesoooooooomme.”
You also should have mentioned Humie from Orchid Seed is delayed too, as it’s still not released yet, even though it was originally scheduled for January, I think..
Interestingly, Hobby Search no longer has a listing for Humie! O_o
I knew they would be PVCs, my point is just that the paint isn’t even dry on Wonder Fes and the PVCs are already official.
Orchid Seed’s Kanu (Bikini) and Mizuho are gonna be PVCs for sure, but (that I’m aware of) they are priced, dated and etc. yet. That was my point. AmiAmi has some nice galleries up for both of the aforementioned Griffon’s.
As for the Ryomou (Maid Clothes ver.), I have also been waiting for a good look at the face before preordering. It’s a Yamamoto sculpt (like those discussed/pictured above) so I think it is a pretty safe bet, but I’d still like to really see it first… though I might just go ahead if there isn’t a good picture in the next few days.
that would be ‘are NOT priced, dated and etc. yet.’
I hate when I have typos:(
Wow! Sweet. Tempted to get the China Dress pair of figures. But I know from my starwars collecting days that if I start this DD series, there will be no end to it. Especially when season 3 of the anime is coming soon.
At least Griffon knows how to appreciate that not all fans of their figures are rich or skilled GK makers. And releasing PVC versions is a great way to earn a new stream of revenue easily from a wider circle of appreciative fans, unlike some companies that obstinately hold onto the past GK glory days. 8)
p.s. I do know that GKs are still the pioneers in new figures (Just see the recently ended WHF) But in terms of total sales and revenue, they are never going to compete with PVC completed figures of the same model.
As I have said in the past, as a good business manager, one should do both. Release GKs in special events as an promotion and for fans of GKs who still want to get their hands dirty and come up with wonderful pieces of artwork, and release completed PVCs for the masses who don’t have the artistic inclination or the time. 8)
Cover Girl Onna Kenshi Feane is finally being released. It seemed like an forever sinced I preordered it.
