Max Factory unveiled the next installment in their Haruhi figure series today in a post on the official Goodsmile Blog! It’s Mikuru in her waitress costume from the school festival episode, and comes following the similarly appointed Tsuruya-san. Details such as price and release date are still unknown, but we know the sculpt is from Max Factory veteran Chieri, and that like Tsuruya, Mikuru will come with cat ears and a tail as option parts. She’ll be on display at Wonder Festival so we’ll be sure to pick up further information on Sunday. In other Max news, the official Figma site and blog were updated with information on the next two action figures in the lineup: Suzumiya Haruhi (school uniform ver.) and Saber from Fate/stay night. Both are scheduled for release in April, with Haruhi at 2,500 yen and Saber at 2,800 yen; production is supervised as usual by Masaki Apsy (Asai Masaki). Full product descriptions are expected to appear online on February 21st. Images of the Figma kits below:

The Figma saber was interesting news, but I think the revoltech one looks better. I can see the joints too much on the figma, although the proportions are better and the design is a little more dynamic.
I kinda like Figmas more, mostly because they come from MaxFac, but they tend to lean on the people side more, as opposed to Revoltechs which don’t have a lot of non-robot releases, Fraulein line aside.
Might just have to get the figma Saber to compare with the Revoltech ones…
Hold on a sec, Tsuruya-san was intended to be a Jan/Feb release. Did they postpone her because they are gonna release her and the new Mikuru fig. at the same time as a matching pair?
Nevertheless, I’m still grabbing it. Max Factory haruhi figs are just irresistible.
I was never much into the Figma trend but that Saber has just won me over. ^^
By any chance if they are gonna release the figma konata outside of Wonder Fest. when the event is over?

Max Factory’s Tsuruya-san is already out; it’s looking like Mikuru will be headed for May or June release at the earliest.
Regarding the Figma Konata, my personal theory (and it’s just a theory with no particular basis) is that this “Haruhi cosplay Konata” configuration is limited to Wonder Festival release, but that we’ll see a Lucky Star costume Konata come out down the road whose head you’ll be able to exchange with the Haruhi, and create your own version that would be nearly identical to this one (only spending twice the cash to do so – diabolical).

The Wonderfest Konata will be up for preorder for one week after the event (2/25-3/2) on GSC online store. They’ll make as many preorders they get and ship everything in mid-June. GSC can only ship in Japan though and there’s a limit of 3 Konatas per customer.
I don’t like this moving Parts Figma Figures… but it seems to get pretty popular in Japan at the moment, so much of them are gone be released…
Welp, another Mikuru figure to buy.
Thanks, Japan. Thanks.

Thanks for mentioning the online order option, I had a lapse of memory. Goodsmile / Max Factory is in fact offering most of their Wanfesu-limited lineup via online mail-order following the event; you’ll need to hit up a proxy to take advantage of the opportunity, though.
That Saber looks great!! Definetly keeping an eye out for her.
Thanx Shingo!
The fixed-posed Mikuru is a must-buy, but I won’t be preordering, just because I’d rather wait (money reasons, understand) ^_~
Saber does look good, but I’d have to see the final result before judgement. I just don’t like action figures, really. But, I’d be willing if a really nice one came up, of course! ^^
The Haruhi is the reason I don’t like action figures – too many visible joints in the legs/arms for me..
Anyone else noticed that Max Factory and Alter are starting to release similar Haruhi figures? First Alter announced their maid Tsuruya, Max Factory does their same shortly, and now Max Factory announces their maid Mikuru after Alter announced their’s a week ago or so?
Thanks for the info guys.

That just makes my choices even harder because both figurines looks just as awesome as the other.
The Figma Saber is definitely more anime-accurate compared to the revoltech one. Hopefully, the mass production versions have better joints than the revoltechs as well. Guess I will be pre-ordering 1 or 2 to check it out. 8)
