Moon Phase Diary reported last night that the Animate online shop listing for volume six of the Sekirei manga contained the news that the manga will receive an anime adaptation in summer 2008! That line was subsequently removed from the product description, but it seems more and more likely that the earlier information from Moon Phase is correct; we can expect official corroboration to appear in March, most likely in the March 21st edition of Young Gangan magazine or when volume six goes on sale on the 25th. Update: Moon Phase is reporting that Aniplex has registered the domain sekirei-tv.com. We’ll watch for content to appear there in the coming month. (no more)
Zzz if another seiyuu vehicle, good for more figures, etc, the usual.
You know, it’s a pretty obnoxious industry when I know that I probably won’t be able to spend the money quaking in my pockets on Sekirei anime. Sorry, I’ve just been frustrated with the release calendars of fanservice/ecchi anime and hentai for US.

Being a big fan of the manga I have high hopes for an anime adaptation, even if it’s only on par with Dragon Destiny (as the earlier Moon Phase scoop implied). Here’s hoping for something closer to the budget they had for Genshiken 2, though.

It’s a damn shame that more such material isn’t making it Stateside. Do you think it’s a reflection of the overall malaise in the market, or just an expression of preferences? I hope it’s the former, as that could mean there’s still hope…
so arms is rumored to do it?

Yeah, according to this Moon Phase diary post it’s rumored that the Arms team that produced Ikkitousen DD will be the ones doing Sekirei.
Awesome new , well rumor .
I’ve been wanting an anime adaptation for some time now .
and if it’s done by the Dragon Destiny team , then we can expect Ecchi in all it’s glory .
Tsukiumi ftw .
Wooot, it would be really wonderful if they producing the anime version :D Life is great~
This probably means I will need a second job soon. Here’s a toast to more ecchi goodness. 8)
[…] on the subject of rumor, Heisei Democracy is reporting that Moon Phase is reporting the manga Sekirei might be getting a anime adaptation. […]
Shingo, the question you posed in your responce to my message is one that I catch myself daydreaming about pretty frequently. It seems like I’m always reading news about some conflict a US distributor is having, and then I still hear debates and actions against fansubing. Sometimes I imagine something should change to act as a catalyst for US distributing, but it seems like with Japanese companies making it especially difficult for US distributors lately with talks of ways at cutting them out, and the malaise you mention or the questionable effect of fansubs, it seems like things are in a grating rut.
