- Volks has posted information regarding their presence at Wonder Festival Winter 2008. They’ll be releasing a set of Muv Luv trading figures called “M.O.E. Model Of Entertainment Collection Age Ultimate Characters 01” (based on the Muv Luv eroge franchise from Age) in advance of the set’s official release in late March or early April; details on exactly what will be for sale at Wanfesu are not yet available (it may just be a single figure from the set) but we’ll be watching for more information on this.

- Toy’sworks posted a promotional image of a Priecia figure they’ll be releasing from Prism Ark, in competition with Happinet’s recently announced offering. She’s scheduled for release in May at 6,800 yen and 1/8 scale (18 cm tall).

- A preorder went up at Amiami over the noon hour today for an [ERO] castoffable Sonsaku Hakufu figure from Ikkitousen, produced by Taki Corporation. She comes with two costumes (school uniform and China dress), and will retail in late March at 9,240 yen and 1/7 scale.

The mech and figure are both poseable in various configurations, and will retail at 6,800 yen in April. The mech stands at 20 cm tall, and Otoha Sakurano stands at 11 cm.

- Goodsmile has a page up detailing their, Max Factory’s, and FREEing’s participation in Wonder Festival 2008 Winter, listing the specifics of the limited edition items they’ll have for sale at the event. Goodsmile is putting out Fate cosplay versions of their Lucky Star Nendoroid figures and a Nendoroid Joymax (the mascot for eroge maker Nitro+), Max Factory is putting out a Figma Izumi Konata (cosplay ver.) action figure from Lucky Star and a black version of their Guilty Gear Ino, and FREEing is putting out a version of their Nendoroid Plus Primula no Chicchana Daibouken with glasses on.
Does Tacky corp. even bother looking at the original character designs for the Ikki girls?
Hideous!
PS: I take back my love for the China dress Kanu
Those Nendoroid Lucky Star Cosplay figurines look adorable. They’ll probably go for a fortune on auction sites as soon as this convention is over.
The Kona-chan Saber cosplay Nendoroid is ridiculously adorable ♥♥♥
Oh my god, I MUST get my hands on those Lucky Star cosplay Nendoroids. >_<;
Jeeepers- the Nendoroid figures are tooo dammm cute!!
Ugh…….sickening! LOL!!
Oh Lord. 5000 of the Lucky Star ones. So much for ever getting one. >.<
I want to smack the heads of those who just don’t make proper figures of the Lucky Star girls.. Why can’t they just make some large fixed-pose figures of them? T_T
Ino in Black as a con exclusive is evil. Want.
Taki’s Hakufu is gonna give me nightmares. Her mother is a great character (total closet badass) but that’s a face not even she could love.
I must know more about those MUV-LUV figures Shingo! :p
FINALLY! They’re releasing a sonic Diver + pilot set. Although I’m a much bigger Ichijo fan but an otoha is fine too!
FREEing seems to be an odd choice of manufacturer tho…
And that Hakufu looks a little… odd.
I think a rise in violent outbreaks worldwide is inevitable due to the fact that a company like Taki exists, thereby adding to otaku rage and not surprisingly, leading to a steady climb in the amount of fan-induced rage attacks on unsuspecting dealers.
I hadn’t noticed the Hafuku before, since I was drooling over the new Nendoroid figures, but good lord – isn’t there some sort of law that prevents the mutilation of persons, fictional or otherwise? Taki would be guilty on so many counts.
Now time to find a person who’ll go to WF2008 for me and snag some Nendoroids…
Wonderfest season back again! Looks like another long line up (but in the cold) and more Nendoroids this time around.
I heartily approve of Mx0 figures, although that Aika is rather bland-looking. Here’s hoping that it’s a sign of more to come.
@ Y
I’m not sure Taki’s sculptor’s have ever seen *any* females – anime or otherwise, never mind the original character designs @_@
[…] The information below comes from: GoodSmile’s Wonder Festival page GoodSmile’s Mika-tan blog Shingo @ Heisei Democracy also has the rundown of releases from other companies here. […]
The question is why Taki can continue to get the license to make some of the most sought-after fully castoffable figures…(Dokusei aka Classmates, Dragon Destiny, etc)
Just like how CM is able to get the license to make the Bible Black figures, even when their quality is bad.
It’s times like this that I wished that fully castoffable figures are available from Alter, MaxFactory and Megahouse. Heck, they can sell at 20% higher than what Taki/CM is charging and I’ll still pay for the premium quality. 8(

a) Dokyuusei is ancient;
b) Ikkitousen allows anyone to make figures of anything;
c) Active (makers of Bible Black) haven’t made a real new game since 2002, and must be looking for cash anywhere they can get it.
I’m guessing products with higher intellectual property value will never find their way into the Taki lineup, for the same reason castoffable figures of them will never appear from any other maker. Alas…

a) Dokyuusei is indeed ancient. But it’s still a great Elf title. And the characters do make a renewed appearance in some of their new strip mahjong games. 8)
b) Thanks. I didn’t know the Ikkitousen license is so cheaply obtained. 8/
c) I’m surprised that they didn’t follow up on their 2 big successes (Bible Black and Discipline). I believe last Xmas was the release date of the final episode of the prequel.
Thanks again for the info. Much appreciated. 8)
Shingo, I have a question. Would you know when the early Lucky Star figures (the Konata and Kagami) will be coming out? They said Jan 08, but… I haven’t heard from them since. ;_; waah!
>>Khursten
They were delayed from January to March, last I heard. :(
Hey there, just to let you know as you don’t seem to have posted anything since.
Volks has edited their original newspost concerning the Character Collection with details for Wonderfest as well as the standard release.
If possible, could you please translate the details? I’d be much obliged as I’d quite like a couple of them.
>>Mystickskye
I’ll take a look, thanks for the heads up.
